Role Summary:

The Equipment Sales Engineer is responsible for developing trusted customer relationships, maximizing account share, and driving customer retention within the assigned region. This role is expected to support business growth and play a key part in market penetration and expansion.

The employee will be responsible for promoting, selling, and supporting a broad portfolio of Trane products, as well as, where applicable, selected products and solutions from other brands within the company portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day selling activities i.e., identifying sales opportunities, qualifying them, proposals creation and presenting them to the customers, following up on them, negotiating price levels and terms and conditions within the company guidelines and assigned limits, acquiring orders.
  • Achieve assigned sales and customer development quota through focus on Industrial and Commercial customer acquisition and development.
  • Develop the best total solution to the customer, collaborating with other departments where necessary.
  • Grow business with existing customers and develop long-term relationships.
  • Partner with the rest of organization to resolve customer complaints.
  • Encourage customer growth and loyalty through continuous support and customer assistance.
  • In close collaboration with other departments and employees to continuously grow the level of customer satisfaction in the assigned territory, by ensuring overall superb customer experience.
  • Develop contract proposals in line with company terms and conditions working together with legal.
  • Identify and communicate service opportunities.
  • Properly maintain and timely update all internal systems, including customer database, opportunity pipeline, etc. and regularly report to the management on key metrics
  • Constantly monitor market trends and benchmark against competitors in the assigned territory, feed this information back to the management
  • If necessary, prepare and participate in marketing activities, such as exhibitions, customer events, etc.
  • Act in compliance with the company policies, processes and procedures
  • Adhere to high ethical standards of doing business and unconditionally following the company Ethics and Compliance rules

Requirements:

  • Technical University Degree - Mechanical, Electrical, Energy or Aeronautic Engineering
  • Proven experience in technical sales (minimum 3 years), preferably in HVAC area e.g., chillers, heat pumps or related equipment
  • Strong self-motivation, a proactive sales mindset, and the drive to exceed sales targets while building lasting customer relationships.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to complete tasks with limited guidance.
  • Good command of English.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, combined with high integrity and the ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Highly autonomous, well organized, and comfortable working remotely and from home.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned area of responsibility; the role includes approximately 60% travel.
