Job Description

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigerian nationals for the positions below at the Institute’s Headquarters in Ibadan.

Position: Senior Equipment Operator

Contract: 3-years renewable contract

Location: Ibadan

Closing Date: 29 June 2026

DUTIES:

  • Carry out mechanical repairs, services and maintenance of Diesel Generators and Equipment.
  • Carry out maintenance and repair of Ring main unit
  • Carry out maintenance and repair of H.T. and L.T. circuit breakers.
  • Perform Operation of all equipment and apparatus in powerhouse.
  • Assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Assist in general maintenance and services of all equipment in powerhouse.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION:

OND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field with a minimum of four (4) years’ experience performing a similar role in a well-structured. Trade Test 1, 2, with any other certifications is an added advantage.

COMPETENCIES:

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Sound technical problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Technical maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in task execution.
