Provide environmental services to SRP in a technologically sound, timely and cost-effective manner to enable SRP to realize its goals and objectives for providing low cost/high value water and energy services. Any one position may not include all duties, nor do the example of duties include all tasks, which may be found in the position of this class. **This position is based on-site at Kyrene Generating Station in Tempe Arizona. **

Employee must work safely and efficiently in the performance of their job duties. Must maintain effective working relationships with other employees, customers and the public. Must have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and have the ability to accurately and legibly complete applicable paperwork. May be required to work a reasonable amount of overtime.

What You'll Do

  • Verify compliance with all environmental permits issued to Kyrene Generating Station.
  • Performs as a project leader for environmental projects.
  • Evaluates study methodologies.
  • Prepares recommendation material for management consideration.
  • Prepares and/or conducts written and oral reports and presentations.
  • Prepares scientific analysis and forecasts.
  • Designs and/or codes computer programs.
  • Integrates environmental facts with political,economic and social aspects of issues.

Education


A bachelor's degree relevant to the assignment from an accredited institution is required.

Experience

This position may be filled at one of three levels outlined below, based on the candidate’s relevant experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and competencies. Level 1 – Associate: Requires up to two (2) years of relevant experience. Level 2 – Journey: Requires a minimum of two (2) years and less than five (5) years of relevant experience. Level 3 – Senior: Requires five (5) or more years of relevant experience. Eligibility for advancement (progression) to the next level in the same role is based on overall job performance, mastery of all functional responsibilities, and time in position, as assessed by the supervisor.

Additional Requirements and Qualifications

Occasional travel for specialized training and utility business meetings occasional contact with utility engineers and scientists from other companies and outside agencies. Ability to work effectively using services of various organizational groups within SRP. Effective interpersonal skills to communicate study work and results to high level management. Ability to use complex computer software tools. Ability to discreetly prepare and use proprietary and sensitive information.

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
