Senior Environmental Project Manager

Pacific Northwest (WA or OR | Hybrid options available)

The Role

As a Senior Environmental Project Manager, you will play a key leadership role in managing and growing environmental projects across Washington and Oregon. You’ll oversee project delivery from scope through completion, serve as a trusted advisor to clients, and help expand the firm’s regional environmental footprint.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both technical excellence and relationship-driven work, and who is energized by building something new rather than stepping into a fully mature program.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead and manage environmental projects, including scopes, schedules, and budgets

• Oversee project progress using project management tools (experience with Deltek VantagePoint is a plus)

• Conduct or direct project-specific research and technical analysis

• Write, review, and oversee high-quality environmental reports that meet regulatory requirements

• Ensure compliance with agency guidelines and environmental regulations

• Allocate project resources and ensure appropriate staffing

• Mentor and train junior staff in fieldwork, research, and compliance documentation

• Serve as a primary point of contact with environmental compliance agencies and government bodies

• Maintain strong, ongoing relationships with existing clients

• Identify, pursue, and develop new client opportunities in the region

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in natural resources, environmental science, geology, soil science, or a related field

• 10+ years of experience in environmental permitting, including familiarity with:

  • NEPA

  • Clean Water Act (Section 404)

  • Endangered Species Act

  • SEPA

  • Oregon Goal 5

  • Oregon Environmental Protection Act

  • Comparable state and local regulations

• 7+ years of project management experience, managing increasingly complex projects

• Established relationships with clients and regulatory agencies in the Pacific Northwest

• Demonstrated ability to deliver projects efficiently, on time, and within budget

• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

• A collaborative leadership style and a desire to mentor others
