About E&ES:
Caterpillar’s Electrification & Energy Solutions (E&ES) Division will focus on delivering advanced electrified power train, zero-emissions products/technologies, and the solutions and services associated with these technologies. Focus areas include batteries, fuel cells, motors, inverters, micro grid controllers, charging, energy storage systems, lifecycle solutions/services and integration of components for ePowertrain solutions across industries.

Caterpillar’s Electrification & Energy Solutions Division has an open opportunity as a Senior Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager – Electrification The Senior Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager will lead and leverage a team to execute the Enterprise strategic roadmap for these functions including safety culture, environmental compliance, auditing, education, and change management to deliver on divisional objectives for conformance to corporate procedures, continuous improvement, and achieving strategic initiatives. Your contributions will help further accelerate the development and delivery of services and solutions to help our customers achieve their climate-related goals by using human and organizational principles to drive ownership of safety, health, and environmental impacts, with a focus on engagement, learning from events, and problem solving, with particular emphasis on the unique hazards of electrification technologies such as high-voltage electrical systems, lithium-ion batteries, fuel cells, and energy storage solutions.
What you will do:
Serves as division EHS process owner to develop and continuously improve EHS processes, tools and training.
Engages division leadership to lead change and take appropriate actions to address environmental risks and protect employees from hazards in the workplace.
Creates the vision for change. Develops and facilitates collaborative relationships within the division and across functional groups to ensure strategic goals are achieved.
Manages, guides and supports the development, implementation, and measurement of strategies that support Caterpillar’s Sustainable Development initiatives at the division level.
Applies specialized EHS expertise to the unique risks of advanced electrification products, including high-voltage systems, battery safety, and energy storage lifecycle management.

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance: Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.
Level Expert:
• Leads discussions and answers complex questions regarding historical and future EHS legal dilemmas.
• Counsels senior practitioners on the implications of EHS policy in related industries.
• Plays a leading role in promoting HSE policy compliance best practices across the industry.
• Imbeds EHS policy objectives into the organization's strategy and mission.
• Promotes a culture in which all employees share a commitment to EHS policy compliance.
• Advises HSE authorities and policymakers on ways to prevent violations of EHS related policies or guidelines.
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Requires a technical degree (advanced degree and/or job-related certifications desired).
Strong understanding of EHS regulations (experience working with regulatory agencies (US/EU desired).
Excellent human relations and communication skills, with ability to socialize ideas, analyze data, make recommendations, and gather team consensus to move forward with excellent communication from plant floor to executive management.
10+ years of EHS experience (demonstrated success at functional leadership desired).
Proven EHS leadership experience in electrification, such as battery manufacturing/assembly, energy storage systems (BESS), fuel cells, high-voltage power electronics (motors, inverters, charging infrastructure), or ePowertrain integration.
In-depth knowledge of hazards and risk mitigation specific to lithium-ion batteries and energy storage, including thermal runaway prevention, high-voltage electrical safety (shock/arc flash), and chemical/electrolyte handling.
Familiarity with key industry standards and regulations applicable to electrification, such as NFPA 70E (electrical safety), NFPA 885 (stationary energy storage systems), UL 1973/UL 9540 (battery and energy storage equipment), and relevant IEC or SAE guidelines (US/EU regulatory agency interaction strongly preferred).
Additional Information:
This position is located in Mossville, IL.
Domestic travel up to 20% & minimal international travel is required.

Pay Range:
$159,120.00 - $238,680.00
