We're a financial services co-operative with an expansive reach on Vancouver Island, the Gulf and Discovery islands and North Central BC. Joining us is your chance to work, and do good, locally. Coastal Community Credit Union is seeking a Senior Enterprise Risk Analyst to play a key role in strengthening and evolving our enterprise-wide risk management practices. If you bring strong risk assessment expertise, thrive in complex environments, and enjoy influencing how organizations make informed, forward-looking decisions, we’d love to hear from you.

What’s the role?

Reporting to the AVP, Strategic Risk & ERM Reporting, the Senior Enterprise Risk Analyst is a critical contributor to the design, execution, and continuous improvement of Coastal Community’s enterprise risk assessment program.

In this role, you will provide strategic advisory support, lead sophisticated risk assessment activities, and help embed risk insights into strategic planning, transformation, and innovation initiatives. Your work will ensure Coastal’s risk posture is forward‑looking, opportunity‑aware, and aligned with our strategic objectives, member values, and operational realities.

Your responsibilities will include:

Enterprise Risk Assessment & Advisory

  • Leading the development and delivery of Coastal Community’s enterprise risk assessment program across strategic, operational, financial, and compliance risk domains.
  • Translating risk appetite and tolerance statements into clear, measurable, and actionable metrics.
  • Conducting advanced qualitative and quantitative risk analyses, including scenario analysis, stress testing, and systemic risk mapping.
  • Facilitating risk workshops and interviews with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a trusted subject matter expert.
  • Providing insight and advice to senior leaders on emerging risks and systemic vulnerabilities to support informed decision‑making.
  • Embedding risk considerations into strategic initiatives, business transformation, and innovation efforts.

Monitoring, Reporting & Data

  • Establishing and maintaining Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and control effectiveness measures.
  • Producing executive‑level dashboards, layered analysis, and risk reports for senior leadership.
  • Monitoring emerging risk trends—including ESG, climate, digital, and member‑centric risks—and integrating insights into enterprise reporting.
  • Partnering with IT and business teams to advance risk data maturity, governance, and analytics capabilities.
  • Leveraging risk technology platforms to monitor and report across key risk domains.

Policy, Process & Continuous Improvement

  • Supporting the development, review, and governance of enterprise risk management policies and frameworks.
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives related to risk assessment methodologies, reporting tools, and governance processes.
  • Benchmarking Coastal Community’s risk practices against industry standards and peers, and recommending enhancements.
  • Supporting post‑event reviews and organizational learning to strengthen resilience and risk awareness.
  • Contributing to effective change management and adoption of new risk tools, processes, and systems.

What are we looking for?

Education & Experience

  • A college diploma or university degree in a related discipline; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of six (6) years of experience in Enterprise Risk Management, preferably within financial services or a regulated, purpose‑driven organization.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise risk assessment methodologies, risk appetite frameworks, and performance‑based ERM.
  • Experience with ESG, climate risk, or regenerative finance is considered an asset.

Skills & Capabilities

  • Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex risk information.
  • Strong technical capability with tools such as Excel, Power BI, and the Microsoft suite.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence without authority.
  • Ability to translate risk insights into clear, practical guidance for diverse audiences.
