You’re agile, keen and open to meaningful work and opportunities that come your way.
You’ll have the opportunity to use your expertise in communication, problem-solving, empathy and conflict resolution to help thousands of people every day.
In this role, you'll:
Are you passionate about helping organisations prepare for the unexpected?
Do you enjoy turning complex risks into practical, people-centred solutions?
This is an opportunity to apply your experience—whatever sector it comes from—at genuine scale, helping shape how one of the state’s most essential service providers prepares for disruption.
Transport for NSW is responsible for the planning, policy and delivery of an integrated transport network across New South Wales. Our Governance, Business Continuity and Planning team sits within the Enterprise
Security Crisis and Emergency Management branch and plays a critical role in ensuring essential services continue to operate when disruption occurs.
About the Role
As a Senior Enterprise Business Continuity & Resilience Officer, you will be a key contributor to building and sustaining resilience capability across a large, complex public sector organisation.
Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Business Continuity & Resilience, you will help ensure our people, services and communities can adapt to and recover from disruption with confidence.
You’ll have the opportunity to influence resilience outcomes across a state-wide network that millions rely on every day.
Your work will focus on:
• Contributing to and shaping enterprise business continuity frameworks, strategies, plans and policies
• Coordinating and facilitating business impact assessments and continuity risk reviews across diverse business areas
• Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders to embed practical, fit-for-purpose continuity and recovery approaches
• Monitoring and reporting on plan currency, program progress and compliance with enterprise requirements
• Helping design and deliver exercises, training and awareness initiatives that strengthen continuity capability and culture
• Researching emerging trends and good practice in business continuity and organisational resilience to drive continuous improvement
• Preparing clear, high-quality briefs, reports and insights to support executive decision-making
About you
We welcome applications from candidates across a broad range of sectors—including transport, utilities, health, emergency management, defence, financial services and the broader public sector.
What matters most is your ability to work with critical services and your commitment to keeping organisations prepared and responsive.
You will bring:
• Experience in business continuity, emergency management, risk, or a related resilience discipline—or a strong background supporting organisations that deliver critical services
• The ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, translating technical requirements into practical, workable approaches
• Strong analytical and written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports, briefs and documentation under pressure
• A collaborative, solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment
• The ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity while maintaining a clear focus on practical outcomes
• Familiarity with relevant frameworks or standards (e.g. ISO 22301, BIA processes, risk management frameworks) is advantageous but not essential
Why Transport for NSW?
This is a rare opportunity to contribute to resilience at genuine scale. You’ll work alongside a dedicated team, supported by strong leadership, with opportunities for professional development and the chance to shape how a critical public service prepares for the future.
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and experience levels.
