Biomerics is seeking a Senior Enterprise Architect to lead the development and execution of enterprise architecture strategy across the organization, with a strong focus on enabling artificial intelligence, data-driven decision-making, automation, and digital transformation.

Reporting to the VP, Data & Technology Enablement, the Senior Enterprise Architect will partner with business leaders, IT, data, cybersecurity, operations, quality, engineering, manufacturing, and external technology partners to define target-state architecture and guide major technology decisions. This role will ensure Biomerics’ enterprise platforms, data foundations, integrations, and governance models are secure, scalable, AI-ready, and aligned with strategic business priorities.

This is a senior individual contributor and strategic leadership role requiring strong business acumen, technical depth, executive communication skills, and the ability to influence across functions. The successful candidate will help shape how Biomerics responsibly applies AI, advanced analytics, automation, and modern enterprise platforms to improve productivity, quality, operational performance, and business agility.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and govern the enterprise architecture strategy, principles, standards, and roadmap.
  • Define an AI-ready enterprise architecture that supports artificial intelligence, machine learning, generative AI, automation, advanced analytics, and intelligent business processes.
  • Partner with executive, business, and technology leaders to translate business priorities into enterprise technology and AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Assess current-state architecture and define future-state architecture across applications, data, integrations, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, AI platforms, and business capabilities.
  • Lead architecture planning for enterprise platforms, including ERP, MES, CRM, PLM, QMS, data platforms, AI/ML platforms, integration platforms, collaboration technologies, and automation tools.
  • Establish architecture standards, design patterns, governance processes, and decision frameworks to ensure consistency, scalability, security, and responsible AI adoption.
  • Partner with data leaders to strengthen enterprise data architecture, data governance, master data, data quality, analytics, reporting, and AI/ML enablement.
  • Guide the evaluation and selection of AI, analytics, automation, and enterprise technology solutions that create measurable business value.
  • Support the development of AI governance practices, including data security, model risk management, ethical use, compliance, transparency, human oversight, and lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to ensure AI and enterprise architecture decisions support security, privacy, compliance, business continuity, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to use AI, automation, and digital capabilities to improve productivity, operational efficiency, quality, decision-making, and customer responsiveness.
  • Guide solution architecture for enterprise initiatives, acquisitions, integrations, modernization efforts, and digital transformation programs.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt, simplify the application portfolio, improve interoperability, and increase operational resilience.
  • Facilitate architecture reviews and provide technical leadership across programs, projects, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Develop architecture artifacts, including capability maps, application portfolio views, AI capability roadmaps, integration diagrams, data flow diagrams, reference architectures, and decision records.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies, especially in AI, data platforms, cloud, automation, cybersecurity, and manufacturing technology, and assess their relevance to Biomerics’ business strategy.
  • Communicate architecture direction, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in IT, enterprise architecture, solution architecture, systems integration, data architecture, AI enablement, or technology leadership.
  • 5+ years of experience developing enterprise architecture roadmaps, standards, target-state designs, and governance practices.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture domains, including business, application, data, integration, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, and AI architecture.
  • Experience with enterprise systems such as ERP, MES, PLM, CRM, QMS, data platforms, integration middleware, identity management, analytics tools, and automation platforms.
  • Demonstrated understanding of AI and data architecture concepts, including data pipelines, data governance, machine learning enablement, generative AI, APIs, model lifecycle considerations, and secure AI adoption.
  • Experience supporting complex business environments such as manufacturing, medical device, life sciences, healthcare, or other regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to align technology strategy with business strategy, operational needs, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, integration patterns, APIs, data architecture, cybersecurity principles, and modern infrastructure practices.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, facilitate cross-functional decision-making, and lead through ambiguity.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Enterprise architecture certification such as TOGAF, Zachman, or equivalent.
  • Cloud certification such as Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.
  • Experience with AI strategy, AI governance, machine learning platforms, generative AI solutions, intelligent automation, MLOps, or enterprise analytics platforms.
  • Experience with mergers, acquisitions, enterprise system harmonization, or multi-site manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with IT governance, portfolio management, business capability modeling, application rationalization, and technology lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, ITIL, NIST, ISO 27001, data governance frameworks, and regulated quality management frameworks.
  • Experience with Microsoft enterprise technologies, modern data platforms, analytics tools, integration platforms, and AI-enabled productivity solutions.
