Job's mission

ASM Korea is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Technical Engineer to support our strategic customers and growing business in South Korea.

This role will serve as a key technical resource responsible for equipment performance, troubleshooting, maintenance support, customer engagement, and continuous improvement activities for ASM semiconductor equipment within customer manufacturing environments.

The ideal candidate will possess strong semiconductor equipment knowledge, advanced problem-solving capabilities, and hands-on experience gained from leading semiconductor equipment companies

What you will be working on

  • Provide technical support for ASM semiconductor equipment at customer manufacturing sites.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues involving electrical, electronic, mechanical, vacuum, gas delivery, RF plasma, and software control systems.
  • Support equipment installation, qualification, optimization, and performance improvement activities.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and corrective actions to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Analyze equipment performance data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Support customer escalations by conducting structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Collaborate closely with customers, field service teams, engineering, and global technical support organizations.
  • Support implementation of hardware and software upgrades, retrofits, and engineering change activities.
  • Prepare technical reports, service documentation, and performance summaries.
  • Drive best practices related to equipment operation, reliability, safety, and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with ASM and customer safety standards while working in semiconductor fab environments.

What we are looking for

  • Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent technical experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in the semiconductor manufacturing or semiconductor equipment industry.
  • Hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting complex semiconductor equipment in customer-facing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor equipment systems, including electrical, mechanical, vacuum, gas, motion control, and robotics subsystems.
  • Strong communication skills in Korean and English, with the ability to work effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.

What sets you apart

  • Experience with leading semiconductor equipment or semiconductor manufacturing companies
  • Experience supporting ALD, PECVD, Epitaxy, CVD, Etch, Furnace, or related process technologies
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor process technologies, equipment troubleshooting, vacuum/RF systems, and automation controls.
  • Experience applying structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, RCA, Six Sigma, FMEA) and providing technical guidance to engineering teams.
  • Customer-focused professional with strong ownership, collaboration, and the ability to perform effectively in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
