This is a high-impact leadership role focused on shaping how large-scale software platforms are operated, observed, and upgraded across diverse deployment models. You will lead multiple engineering teams responsible for building the foundational systems that power tenant experience, including observability, upgrade orchestration, and tenant control mechanisms. The role sits at the intersection of platform engineering, distributed systems, and developer experience, with a strong emphasis on reliability and scalability. You will define and drive a cohesive technical vision that improves how complex systems are managed across cloud-native, self-managed, and dedicated environments. This is a strategic opportunity to build and scale a new function while influencing platform-wide architecture and operational standards. Accountabilities:

  • Lead and manage multiple engineering teams working on observability, tenant controls, and upgrade tooling within a large-scale platform environment.
  • Define and drive the end-to-end Tenant Experience strategy across cloud, self-managed, and dedicated deployment models.
  • Guide technical direction across distributed systems, including observability frameworks, self-healing capabilities, feature flags, rate limiting, and upgrade orchestration.
  • Partner with senior engineering leaders and cross-functional teams to align platform capabilities and ensure cohesive system integration.
  • Coach and develop engineering managers, supporting team health, performance management, hiring, and organizational design.
  • Translate platform strategy into actionable roadmaps with clear priorities, milestones, and delivery accountability.
  • Own production outcomes impacting reliability, upgrade performance, and tenant operational experience.
  • Requirements:

    • Proven experience managing engineering managers and leading multi-team engineering organizations.
    • Strong background in building, scaling, or restructuring engineering functions in complex technical environments.
    • Experience with distributed systems and SaaS platforms, including Kubernetes-based and containerized architectures.
    • Familiarity with self-managed, on-premises, or hybrid infrastructure environments beyond cloud-only systems.
    • Solid understanding of observability practices (metrics, logs, traces, SLOs/SLIs) and platform reliability concepts.
    • Ability to evaluate architectural tradeoffs and guide technical decision-making across large-scale systems.
    • Experience leading through ambiguity, driving alignment, and creating clarity in evolving technical landscapes.
    • Exposure to modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted development workflows and developer productivity tooling.
