You will collaborate closely with engineering, security, compliance, and product teams across the organization. This is a remote-friendly role offering the opportunity to influence technology used by millions of customers across Canada.
Accountabilities:
- Lead, coach, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of platform engineers across Infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, and Developer Experience.
- Establish technical direction for platform architecture, infrastructure, reliability, and developer tooling while ensuring successful execution of the engineering roadmap.
- Balance immediate delivery needs with longer-term investments in infrastructure, automation, developer tooling, and operational reliability.
- Oversee cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, CI/CD systems, operational tooling, and platform capabilities within a regulated environment.
- Design and develop AI-powered internal tools and agentic workflows that automate repetitive tasks, support complex engineering activities, and improve productivity across teams.
- Improve developer experience by reducing friction across onboarding, local development, CI/CD, deployment, and production workflows.
- Ensure platform systems are secure, scalable, observable, resilient, and capable of supporting continued business growth.
- Own incident-management practices, including on-call operations, postmortems, root-cause analysis, and improvements to the sustainability and effectiveness of reliability processes.
- Partner with product engineering, security, compliance, and other technology stakeholders to align platform priorities with organizational and customer needs.
- Communicate technical strategy and platform investments effectively, connecting engineering initiatives to measurable business and customer impact.
- Challenge technical assumptions, evaluate trade-offs, and make pragmatic decisions across infrastructure, reliability, developer experience, and platform architecture.
- Encourage a culture of ownership, collaboration, continuous improvement, rapid delivery, and high engineering standards.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of professional experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or closely related technical disciplines.

- Demonstrated experience operating production systems and supporting on-call and incident-management processes.
- Ability to establish technical direction across both infrastructure and developer experience while remaining hands-on when necessary.
- Strong understanding of reliability, observability, scalability, security, automation, and production operations.
- Experience working collaboratively with engineering leadership, product teams, security, compliance, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate technical priorities into business outcomes.
- Comfort using AI-powered development tools to accelerate software development, debugging, problem-solving, and technical learning.
- Ability to operate effectively in an environment that values autonomy, rapid execution, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
- Experience in fintech, financial services, or another regulated industry is an advantage.
- Previous experience as a Staff Engineer, Senior Engineer, or equivalent technical leadership role before moving into management is a plus.
- Genuine interest in Bitcoin, financial technology, or emerging technologies is beneficial.
- Professional fluency in English is required due to the nature of the role and the customer base.
