Job Description

At Siteimprove, we are the leader in agentic content intelligence. Siteimprove.ai is a unified platform that brings together accessibility, analytics, SEO/AEO, and content strategy into a single, continuous flow. Our AI agents work alongside marketing and digital teams — not instead of them — helping to create high-performing, accessible content that's easy to discover by both humans and AI.

As Senior Engineering Manager for Content Platform, you own the systems that acquire and ingest the content our entire product line reasons about. Our enterprise customers bring thousands of sites each, re-crawled continuously. Every accessibility finding, analytics number, and SEO recommendation begins as content one of your systems fetched, parsed, and stored.

You will lead two Copenhagen engineering teams, each with its own Technical Leader role held by a Principal Engineer. The two carry different hard problems. One sustains crawl throughput so that cost tracks value rather than volume. The other builds the shared foundations the rest of Siteimprove works through, so product lines reach content through common contracts rather than each solving it their own way. You represent this group's engineering in a trio with Product and UX. Pillar strategy is set with Seattle, nine hours behind you, and you are the leader on the ground who turns it into local decisions rather than waiting on it.

Your teams set the ceiling on what the rest of Siteimprove can build. Your goals follow from that — ingestion reliable enough that customers trust it, efficient enough that cost tracks value rather than volume, capable enough to feed our agentic products, and ready for the compliance bar our public sector customers require. You will use AI to build the platform that powers our AI products and stay close enough to the code to argue a design on its merits.

What we will be doing

  • Decision Authority in Copenhagen: You are the decision-maker on the ground. Resolve in Copenhagen hours what would otherwise wait overnight. As engineering's voice in the group's trio, bring the constraints Product and UX have no way to see into scope conversations early enough to change them. Your director sets goals with you and discusses how you and the group are tracking against them.
  • Platform Ownership: Own Content Platform's ingestion surface as a running business — availability, throughput, cost, and delivery predictability. Modernization is how you improve those numbers, not a separate program you report on. Our move to EKS is part of it. You decide which debt gets paid down and when and keep that trade-off in front of the trio.
  • Architectural Direction: Own the constraints and the cross-team contracts your Technical Leaders design within: scheduling the crawl workload so cost tracks value rather than volume, moving ingestion onto event-driven services, and defining how the rest of Siteimprove consumes what we ingest. You will hold that direction with your senior engineers, because authority here is earned in design review.
  • Delivery Under Pressure: Hold the delivery line when priorities move. Work arrives from outside the team continuously, and you will sequence so committed work reaches completion rather than stalling half-built. Align directly with peer engineering leaders and close the gaps at functions you depend on but don't manage.
  • Measurable Impact: Define the KPIs these systems are judged by and hold your teams to them. You will prove the impact of what you prioritize in throughput, cost, and reliability rather than asserting it, and you will stop work that moves none of them.
  • Growing Your Engineers: Own performance, career development, and compensation decisions for the group. Hand the Tech Vision and System Design for major initiatives to the engineers closest to the systems, and review rather than drive them.
  • AI-Native Delivery: Use AI for engineering throughput, not just for product features. You will model the practice yourself: interpreting legacy code paths nobody documented, generating test coverage around behavior before you change it, and shortening the distance between a design decision and a working replacemen

What we will require of you

What we will love about you

These systems quietly carry the entire product. If you're ready to make them faster and cheaper to run without stopping the business that depends on them, we'd love to hear from you. Join us in helping enterprise marketing teams turn their vast content into clear, actionable insights that drive measurable business results.
