Using your technical and leadership expertise, you will manage engineers and engineering managers, owning the people management and delivery efforts of multiple engineering teams. You’ll make data driven decisions, instilling a culture of measurement and constant learning and improvement. Requirements

    • Hire, build and manage multiple teams of successful & happy software engineers
    • Enabling your teams for success, delivering high-quality products to our customers
    • Set and communicate clear priorities and a strategy that contribute to Civica’s goals
    • Help to set the long-term technical vision for your teams, and contribute to the wider Civica Engineering vision
    • Drive the evolution of Civica’s engineering culture
    • Develop and align processes and decision-making across teams
    • Aligning engineering efforts with product colleagues & other senior stakeholders

Core Competencies:

    • Experience in recruiting, coaching and mentoring software engineers and managers
    • A technical background, able to engage with software engineers on a deeply technical level and contribute to technical decision making
    • Strong knowledge of modern software development practices such as agile development, testing principles, security, and observability
    • Expertise implementing engineering metrics to drive quality and performance
    • Comfortable with ambiguity, and able to create clarity for your teams

Nice to Haves

    • Awareness of Developer Experience principles
    • Experience modernising legacy software
    • Worked in an environment where engineers own production services
    • Experience working with globally distributed teams
