Dyson’s global real estate portfolio spans more than 104 properties across over 80 countries, including corporate offices, retail spaces, research & development facilities and manufacturing sites. As the portfolio continues to evolve, the Estates Engineering team provides independent technical governance, and design assurance to ensure global consistency, quality, compliance and operational excellence across all projects and facilities. The Estates Engineering Team forms part of the Global Estates Team.
The Senior Engineering Manager / Engineering Manager is accountable for the technical delivery, design integrity and operational readiness of Dyson’s estates portfolio within the various geographical regions. The individual will require to coordinate closely with key internal stakeholders and external consultants, contractors and specialists, to deliver world-class facilities that support manufacturing, R&D, and corporate operations. The successful candidate will oversee capital investment programmes and ensure facilities are delivered safely, sustainably, efficiently and in alignment with Dyson’s global standards and long-term business objectives.
· Lead and govern multidisciplinary design development, ensuring compliance with Dyson standards, statutory requirements, recognised codes of practice and industry best practice.
· Provide technical leadership, oversight and assurance of multiple concurrent projects across different countries, ensuring consistent application of Dyson standards while respecting local statutory and cultural requirements in both APAC and EMEA region.
· Accountable for design assurance, technical acceptance, commissioning and validation of related engineering disciplines prior to handover.
· Manage regional design consultants, project managers and contractors, setting clear performance expectations and driving accountability.
· Partner and collaborate with regional real estate, operations, manufacturing and R&D leaders to manage capital projects in line with business needs to optimise building performance, safety, reliability and energy efficiency across the regional portfolio.
· Provide technical input into capital and operational budgeting and lifecycle planning.
· Advise senior stakeholders on technical risk, feasibility, cost-benefit and value engineering opportunities.
· Contribute to regional capital planning, long-range forecasting and portfolio-level investment strategies
· Support Dyson’s sustainability and decarbonisation agenda within the estate, ensuring alignment with corporate ESG commitments.
· Maintain and continuously improve Dyson Estates Engineering standards, specifications and guidance documentation, including collaboration and integration of the Global Estates processes and ways of working.
· Drive the Estates Engineering transformational and transactional goals.
· Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
· Strong background in multidisciplinary building services engineering for fit-out, brownfield and greenfield projects, particularly in commercial office fitouts, labs and manufacturing facilities.
· Proven experience leading technical delivery of major capital projects across multiple geographies.
· Deep understanding of commissioning, validation and handover processes for operational readiness.
· Being proactive and working at pace with an ability to take ownership and work independently.
· Commercially astute with experience in budget planning, cost control, procurement, contract management and time management.
· Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the confidence to challenge, influence and advise senior leaders.
· Knowledge of operational requirements for Facilities management, IT, AV, Security and Health & Safety.
· Project Management: Scope definition, programme planning, procurement strategies, financial control and risk management.
· Contract & Supplier Management: Quality assurance, compliance, risk management and supply chain performance.
· Building Engineering & Operations: Design assurance, operational optimisation, asset lifecycle management and resilience planning.
· Subject Matter Expertise: Recognised technical authority acting as client representative and trusted advisor.
• Degree-qualified in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services preferred).
• Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional accreditation is preferred.
