Location: Filton - Hybrid 3 days a week onsite

Salary: £50,470+ Depending on experience

An exciting opportunity to lead and coordinate engineering activities across the full product lifecycle, supporting the delivery and enhancement of Typhoon weapon capabilities and other key defence platforms. Based in Filton, you will work closely with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to develop requirements, shape proposals, oversee engineering governance, and ensure successful delivery of projects to time, cost, and quality targets. This highly visible role offers significant stakeholder engagement, including direct interaction with UK customers and key suppliers, while contributing to business growth and capability development across the organisation.

Core duties:

  • Understanding and developing the Customer’s requirements for new weapon capabilities, inclusive of Platform and Support.
  • Development of robust and value for money proposals that satisfy the customer requirements and enhance Typhoon capability.
  • Delivery of contracted tasks to time, cost and quality ensuring customer acceptance on completion and enduring through life support.
  • Support to securing new business, including the application of appropriate engineering governance and maturity reviews as driven by Customer and business needs.
  • Requires an ability to interface with stakeholders at all levels, functions and delivery streams/shared services within the organisation ensuring effective management of issues that are both operationally and contractually significant. Specifically, this role includes a direct relationship to the UK Customer and key suppliers.

Essential Skills:

  • Broad engineering background with strong knowledge of product development, systems integration, trials, and in-service support solutions.
  • Proven experience applying Systems Engineering principles to technical and programme management activities.
  • Strong commercial and business awareness, with an understanding of the financial and contractual aspects of delivering complex engineering programmes.
  • Ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership, customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions and delivery organisations.
  • Experience managing technical governance, delivery, and engineering activities within complex, multi-disciplinary environments.

The Engineering Management & Integration Team:

Join a dynamic Engineering Management & Integration team supporting the delivery and evolution of the Typhoon platform and other key defence programmes. Working across the full product lifecycle, you will collaborate with a wide range of engineering disciplines, business functions, suppliers, and UK customer organisations. This role offers excellent exposure to complex, high-profile programmes, providing opportunities to influence capability development and work with stakeholders across the wider business and defence community. Based in Filton, occasional travel to other company, supplier, and customer sites may be required.
