The Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven professional to lead, coordinate and undertake various condition assessment and asset managementactivities of water infrastructureand other assets. You will play a key role in ensuring the long-term performance and reliability of water systems through strategic asset management and engineering excellence.

As a key member of our water infrastructure team in Brisbane, you will contribute to major programs of work with key clients, primarily within South East Queensland, while also supporting the broader ANZ business. You will assist clients in evaluating the condition of their water infrastructure assets and making informed decisions about maintenance, repair, and replacement strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead and undertake condition assessment test plans utilising suitable techniques or technologies for water infrastructure assets, including pipelines, pump stations, treatment facilities, and other critical assets.
  • Develop rehabilitation and renewal strategies informed by inspection data, performance trends, and lifecycle considerations.
  • Conduct field inspections across various asset classes to develop recommendations for maintenance planning, renewal forecasting, and long-term investment strategies.
  • Diagnose root causes of asset deterioration and develop remaining useful life estimations and condition scoring based on relevant industry standards.
  • Prepare robust business cases for rehabilitation works, including problem definition, scope development, cost estimation, risk analysis, and facilitation of safety-in-design workshops.
  • Project manage, lead or assist in coordination of condition assessment and asset management projects, as well as mentoring other junior engineers in the team.

About You

  • Degree qualified in Civil/Material/Mechanical/Structural Engineering (or related discipline) with RPEQ status, or eligibility to obtain.
  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in the water infrastructure industry or a related field.
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment.
  • Detail-oriented with advanced analytical skills for structural degradation modelling and remaining life calculations.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for developing innovative condition assessment test plans using cutting-edge technologies.
  • Familiarity with relevant standards, inspection techniques and technologies, and asset management frameworks.
  • Proficient in IT and data management, with experience maintaining and updating asset registers.
  • Hold a current QLD driver’s license.
