What you’ll do:

A Senior QA Automation Engineer develops test strategies and plans to validate Embedded and Application Software for life safety and power conversion products. The role requires strong software testing skills and effective communication, working with cross-functional teams to verify new technologies, create test schedules, oversee projects, and help global teams resolve issues.
• Define end-to-end test strategies for the LSS platform, including system, firmware, and integration testing.
• Develop comprehensive test plans, cases, and data sets for functionality, performance, reliability, and safety requirements.
• Create, run, and maintain automated tests using Python frameworks like Robot Framework or PyTest.
• Set up and enhance test infrastructure, including simulators, interfaces, and hardware rigs.
• Validate firmware communication, system states, and control algorithms at the feature level.
• Analyze system logs and collaborate with engineers to resolve issues.
• Improve test tools, automation scripts, and validation methods.
• Ensure traceability between requirements, tests, results, and defects.
• Validate customer releases and manage assigned deliverables.
• Recommend enhancements for test methods and workflows.
• Maintain documentation such as verification plans, test designs, guidelines, and reports.
• Participate in technical discussions and share knowledge with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

B.E. (5-7 Years)• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Electronics & Communication.
• 5–7 years of experience in software or firmware testing, or system test development for embedded systems products.
• Minimum of 2 years validating high-quality embedded products, preferably in power electronics or critical power solutions.
• At least 3 years developing automation with Python.

Skills:

• Proven experience in implementing System Automation Test Frameworks for complex embedded, on-premises, cloud, and mobile application systems.
• Strong understanding of embedded system architecture, control loops, and principal system operating modes.
• Extensive hands-on experience testing power electronics or LSS-related systems, with exposure to three-phase systems, battery-tie converters, or power distribution equipment considered an asset.
• Proficient in using Python-based automation frameworks such as Robot Framework or Pytest.
• Experienced in cloud-based testing and automation, including emulation of big data and automated data handling.
• Skilled in creating system-level test cases and contributing to test plans for embedded firmware and application software.
• Working knowledge of data-driven testing, CI/CD-based automation, and developing test scripts or harnesses for Linux and Windows environments.
• Familiarity with version control and project-tracking tools such as Git, SVN, Jira, or TFS.
• Basic understanding of network-enabled communication protocols, message handling, and data storage systems.
• Exposure to communication protocols such as MQTT, MODBUS, or RS232/485 is preferred but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of HIL simulation concepts or experience working with real-time embedded HIL setups.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze logs, waveforms, and measurements using oscilloscopes, analyzers, and related diagnostic tools.Communicates technical concepts and information to internal staff/peers and stakeholders; strong verbal, documentation, and interpersonal communication skills required.
