As the province’s largest energy provider with more than 100 years of knowledge and experience, we proudly deliver renewable energy, natural gas, electricity and propane to 1.3 million customers.

We're actively seeking new talent to join our mission of delivering a stronger energy future in B.C. As one of BC's Top Employers with a diverse team of over 2,800 employees, we are committed to a safe and inclusive culture where each of us can connect, belong, and grow. Join us, and together, let's shape a brighter future for B.C.

At FortisBC, we deliver the energy people across British Columbia rely on every day—safely, responsibly, and with a focus on a lower-carbon future. We’re looking for an experienced engineer to join our team and help ensure our systems continue to operate safely and reliably for the communities we serve.

As a Senior Engineer, you’ll play a key role in supporting the safety and performance of the infrastructure that delivers energy to homes and businesses. You’ll assess potential risks, contribute to practical solutions, and support projects that strengthen system reliability. Working closely with teams across the organization, you’ll help ensure our operations meet high standards for safety, performance, and compliance.

In this role, you’ll apply your problem-solving skills to evaluate complex challenges and develop effective solutions. You’ll collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and external partners to support work from planning through to execution, helping ensure it is delivered safely and efficiently.

We’re looking for a senior-level engineer with several years of relevant experience and a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation, or eligibility for registration in British Columbia. You bring sound judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Your experience will help guide decisions and support continuous improvement across our programs and practices.

What it takes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) and/or currently registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (EGBC)
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive engineering experience relevant to pipeline systems, energy infrastructure, or similarly regulated assets.
  • Experience in integrity management, risk assessment, asset management, or infrastructure engineering is preferred.

Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive, and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
