– Senior Engineer (Linux Middleware, TV/STB)

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to contribute to the development and integration of Linux-based middleware for TV and STB products. This role focuses on hands-on implementation, feature development, and system integration across domains such as audio, HDMI, networking, PQ, user control, and voice integration.

Key Responsibilities

Development & Implementation

  • Design, develop, and maintain Linux-based middleware and system services for TV/STB platforms.
  • Implement and enhance:
    • Audio policy logic and control interfaces
    • HDMI configuration and control functionality
    • Network (Ethernet/WiFi) configuration interfaces
    • PQ (Picture Quality) configuration interfaces
    • User control interfaces (remote control, casting, etc.)
    • Voice integration interface layer between device and cloud
    • Debug menu features and system diagnostics tools
  • Ensure code quality, performance, and reliability across different product configurations.

System Integration & Debugging

  • Integrate middleware with SoC SDKs and ODM platforms.
  • Perform debugging across multiple layers (application, middleware, kernel, driver, hardware).
  • Support issue investigation, root-cause analysis, and bug fixing during development and productization phases.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (audio, video, platform, QA).

Collaboration & Execution

  • Work closely with senior engineers and architects to implement system design.
  • Participate in feature design discussions and technical reviews.
  • Support delivery timelines and ensure high-quality feature completion.
  • Collaborate with ODMs and silicon vendors during integration and issue resolution.

Key Requirements

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded Linux development.
  • Strong hands-on experience in C/C++.
  • Experience developing Linux services, middleware, or system applications.
  • Good understanding of Embedded Linux (Yocto or similar build systems).
  • Solid debugging skills across user space and kernel space.
  • Experience delivering embedded products (TV/STB is a plus).

Highly Desirable

  • Experience with TV/STB platforms or similar embedded domains.
  • Familiarity with:
    • Audio frameworks and HDMI standards
    • Networking stack (Ethernet/WiFiBluetooth)
    • IPC mechanisms
    • Open-source middleware frameworks
  • Exposure to certification requirements (Dolby, DTS, HDMI, etc.).
  • Experience working with ODMs or silicon vendors.
