Job Description

You will be responsible for providing site-based engineering support for plant mechanical and electrical arrangement topics including piping and cable ways systems during project execution. The role serves as a key technical link between the site team and the broader engineering organization, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues, effective management of design changes, and safe, high-quality execution of site activities.
This position works closely with cross-functional engineering teams, construction, quality, customers, consortium partners, and outsourced engineering partners to identify risks early, resolve site challenges proactively, and support successful project delivery. You will be relocated to site office at Kaohsiung later upon site office is ready.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site technical support for mechanical and electrical arrangements, piping, and cableway engineering issues through Technical Query (TQ’s) and Engineering Response (ER’s).
  • Resolve engineering, installation, and construction challenges to support smooth project execution and minimize schedule impact.
  • Conduct site walkdowns with customers, construction teams, and stakeholders to identify and close technical issues and punch items.
  • Prepare sketches, 3D model references, conduct pipe stress calculation and technical inputs to support installation, field modifications, and problem solving and ensure no stoppage of Site Activities.
  • Review drawings, prefabrication inputs, and site documentation for technical accuracy and applicability.
  • Estimate quantities for piping, supports, and cableways required for site changes and procurement support.
  • Manage design changes, field deviations, and as-built updates to ensure accurate engineering documentation.
  • Identify site execution risks, recommend mitigation actions, and support non-conformance cost judgments.
  • Capture and apply lessons learned, while driving continuous improvement, Lean practices, and digitization initiatives.
  • Guide and mentor site engineers, facilitate technical discussions, and represent the discipline in site and customer meetings.
  • Support Site in monitoring Secondary Accessories (EQ32) and Cable Trays and Support (EQ20) packages.
  • Support stakeholder alignment across site, construction, project, and customer teams for timely issue resolution.
  • Support ITO team with discussion with potential contracts.
  • Promote safety, exercise stop-work authority when needed, and ensure compliance with engineering standards, specifications, and local regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Significant site exposure on large-scale power plant projects.
  • Strong knowledge of power plant systems and processes.
  • Hands-on knowledge of applicable ASME, EN, and DIN standards, as well as Taiwan local requirements.
  • Good knowledge of engineering, design, and project management tools and methods related to plant arrangement, piping, and electrical arrangement.
  • Hands-on experience with E3D, specially design and drawing modules.
  • Hands-on experience in pipe stress analysis using tools such as Rohr-2 or CAESAR II.
  • Require to relocate to site office
