To support this,we’rescaling our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)organization in Dublin, responsible for keeping the OnStar product line resilient, performant, and scalable for millions of customers.
We are seeking an experienced engineerwith a strong background in SRE, cloud operations, and project ownership to help build and improve reliability practices across our customer-facing OnStar experiences and the services behind them.
WhatYou’llBe Doing
Design and implement scalable, fault-tolerant, and observable infrastructuresupporting OnStar mobile and web experiences, in-vehicle services, and the backend platforms and integrations that power them.
Driveadoptionof configuration management, infrastructure refactoring, and testing frameworksto strengthen system resilience.
Partner across SRE, development, and product teams to improve service reliability, deployment safety, and incident response practices
Provide consultation and contribute toplanning onreliability standardsfor new OnStar capabilities, customer-facing releases, and platform initiatives.
Help evolve and implement an observability approachusing tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog, with automated alerting and actionable SLO dashboards.
Support and improve on-call practices, manage blameless postmortems, and guide root cause analysis toeliminaterecurring failures.
Mentor engineers and support a culture rooted in extreme ownershipand operational excellence.
Support compliance and privacy-driven engineeringinitiatives across connected services, with potential crossover into areas like data retentionand safety certification tooling
What You Bring
6+ years in SRE, DevOps, or systems engineering, including experience mentoring engineers and leading project-level technical work.
Track recordof building andmaintaininghigh-scale, cloud-native systems(preferably AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Expertisein container orchestrationand deployment strategies using Kubernetesand CI/CD pipelines
Proficiencyin Python, Go, or Java, with strong code review and readability standards.
Experience leading cross-functional infrastructure projects, configuration strategy, or organizational tooling initiatives
Ability to think and act under pressure — whether debugging a live incident or balancing uptime vs cost trade-offs.
Familiarity with privacy engineering, data security, or experience supporting compliance frameworksis a plus.
Strong communicationskills — able to influence, mentor, and lead across diverse technical teams.
