Job Title: Senior Engineer – Process Automation

Reporting To: Senior Director of Operations

Job Summary:

The Senior Engineer will be a Subject Matter Expert who leads the design, development and delivery of automation solutions.

This person will leverage deep expertise in specific areas while maintaining a strong understanding of broader engineering principles. This person will provide mentorship to other engineers and guides team to successfully deliver project solutions. Continually refines expertise and stays at the forefront of industry trends and technological advancements.

Responsibilities:

Customer Management

  • Lead the design, development and technical support of automation solutions adhering to Catalyx, and industry standards.
  • Lead the installation, commissioning, and qualification, and support of automation solutions.
  • Identify and own the resolution of complex technical issues in automation solutions.
  • Assist in identifying and addressing risks and training gaps.
  • Define and assign engineering tasks.
  • Approve technical specifications, drawings, bills of material, and documents.
  • Provide technical guidance, support, and mentorship to other engineers with best practices and standards in mind.
  • Support the sales team in the creation of quotes and proposals.
  • Collaborate with project management team to ensure project success.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Certifications in relevant automation platforms
  • Preferred platforms:
  • Siemens PCS7 and TIA Portal
  • Emerson DeltaV
  • Inductive Automation Ignition
  • AVEVA PI Historian
  • Rockwell Logix5000 Platform
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally. (Base Location is Ireland)
  • Required Skills:
  • Subject Matter Expertise in at least one of the following areas:
  • Control systems and programming
  • Validation process design and execution
  • Data systems design and implementation
  • Software Development and integration
  • Expert verbal and written communication skills to convey and present technical information effectively
  • Expert problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Expert in anticipating potential issues and resolving complex problems across projects
  • Expert ability to mentors team members and helps develop their careers
  • Expert ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks and estimate task duration
  • Expert flexibility in responding to changing project requirements
  • Expert ability to maintain accuracy in work
  • Strong level of risk management and mitigation strategies
