EIIC has opening for Senior Engineer – Electronics Design within Aerospace. He/ she will be responsible to perform the design and development of Power Electronics hardware for Aerospace controllers (LRU) conforming to required standards and to customer specific requirements for Aerospace .This individual will be responsible for simulations, designing, developing and testing of power circuits, focused mostly on power electronics converters, analog and digital circuits and gate driver design.
Job Responsibilities
• Perform power electronics design and development and performs modeling, simulation, PE and validations of power electronics and electronics circuits for Aerospace & Electrical Application.
• Perform Electronics controller & Power Electronics hardware design and development, expereince on aerospace product design with DO160 & DO254 standards.
• Contribute to complex circuit design and analysis/simulations using Pspice/LTspice/Matlab/SiMetrix/ PLECS
• Clearly Document function, design and test of electronic hardware including Product Specifications, Hardware Design Document, experimental test procedures, QTP, QSR, QAR, QTR, ATP etc. to meet Eaton Quality standards.
• Execute the project through entire product lifecycle through Pro-Launch process
• Continuously manages the expectations of internal and external customers.
• Provide work estimates and develop schedule in order to effectively manage time.
• Collaborates with power electronics, mechanical, thermal, and firmware engineers to successfully design and validate the design
• Mentor team members assist them in technical and process areas.
• Ensure quality levels are met through tools such as Six Sigma, DFSS etc.
• Stays current with the latest power electronics, PCB and electronics circuit technologies and applies knowledge to power conversion and protection applications.
Required: Masters/Bachelor’s degree in Power Electronics / Electronics/Engineering with 5+ Years of extensive experience in Power Electronics / Electronics Design.
• 7+ Years’ experience in Hardware System design & development, verification & validation, qualification & certification testing preferably in avionics domain.
• Should have experience in leading the project independently with team of 3-5 design engineers.
• Proficiency in advanced simulation and modeling tools such as MATLAB/Simulink or SPICE for detailed analysis of power electronic systems, including transient and steady-state behavior, fault analysis, and optimization.
• Expertise in designing and implementing effective thermal management solutions to ensure power electronics components operate within safe temperature ranges, including heat sinks, cooling systems, power loss calculations and thermal simulations.
• Knowledge of EMC standards and practices to design power electronics systems that minimize electromagnetic interference and are compliant with regulatory requirements.
• Experience in optimizing power electronics systems for high power density, considering space constraints, weight limitations, and other packaging challenges.
• Familiarity with reliability engineering principles, including failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and the ability to design for high reliability and robustness.
• Expertise in designing and selecting transformers and inductors, including core materials and winding configurations, for efficient power conversion and filtering.
• Experience in designing and implementing different AC-DC, DC-DC converters & motor inverters for different applications, including the selection of switching devices, gate drivere selelction, modulation techniques and filter design.
• Knowledge of Silicon Carbide (SiC) and Gallium Nitride (GaN) power semiconductors and their application in power electronics to improve efficiency and performance.
• Ability to integrate power electronic systems into larger electrical systems, understanding system-level interactions, and ensuring seamless compatibility.
Proficiency in troubleshooting power electronic systems, conducting failure analysis, and implementing corrective actions to resolve issues and improve product reliability.
• Should have hands on experience with Hardware development for 8/16/32 bit microcontrollers/ DSP/FPGA based systems.
• Should be able to analyze the analog & digital Circuits for Functional, performing FMEA’s, Stress, Derating, Worst-case & Tolerance study using analysis tools like PSpice, LTspice, SiMetrix, PLECS
• Good Knowledge of DO-160, DO178/DO254, IEC, SAE standards and Certification processes
• Hands on with test Equipments like CRO, Function Generator, Spectrum Analyzer and Logic Analyzer
• Excellent Technical documentation and Requirement management Knowledge and awareness of product design life-cycle process (e.g. CMMI) and configuration management.
• Hands on experience on functional testing & debugging of any complex electronics hardware.
• Hands on experience in writing detailed test plan/procedures, Qualification test procedures.
• Hands on experience on various testing are for Conducted Emissions / Immunity, Radiated Emissions / Immunity and Environmental Testing
• Prior aerospace industry experience is strongly preferred.
