At Aurecon, we are optimistic about the future. We are thinkers, solvers, and collaborators who work with our clients to deliver the infrastructure and assets that strengthen communities and create a sustainable future.

What you’ll do

As a Senior / Engineer in our Ports, Marine & Coastal team based in Perth, you’ll contribute to projects and programs that make a real difference and be part of a team that embraces challenges, welcomes diverse ideas, and engineer solutions with people and outcomes in mind.

The position may be offered at Senior Engineer or Engineer level, depending on your experience, technical capability, leadership responsibilities and project delivery track record.

  • Develop and review technical analyses, calculations, models, drawings, specifications and reports, ensuring compliance with project requirements, relevant standards and Aurecon's quality expectations.

  • Support the resolution of technical and delivery challenges by considering safety, constructability, operability, cost, programme, quality and risk to achieve practical outcomes.

  • Assist with project delivery activities including scope, schedule, resourcing, risk management and client communication, while contributing to proposals and business development opportunities.

  • Support and mentor junior team members, contribute to investigations and construction-phase services, and apply digital engineering tools to enhance project outcomes and team capability.

What you’ll bring

  • Australian citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance are mandatory.

  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline, with relevant structural, geotechnical, coastal, maritime or port expertise; postgraduate qualifications and Chartered status, or progress towards Chartered status, are highly regarded.

  • Typically 4-10+ years of relevant experience in ports, marine and coastal infrastructure, with appointment at Engineer or Senior Engineer level depending on experience, technical capability and project delivery experience.

  • Experience contributing to the delivery of port and maritime projects, with exposure to areas such as marine structures, jetties and wharves, berthing and mooring, terminals, coastal infrastructure, dredging, reclamation, condition assessment or remediation.

  • An understanding of project delivery principles, including scope, schedules, budgets, risk and change management, with the ability to work effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality technical outputs and collaborate with project teams, with experience using relevant engineering and digital tools such as SpaceGass, STAAD.Pro, Optimoor, Rhinoceros 3D, BIM, Navisworks or GIS.
