Role Accountabilities

  • The individual should have good experience in Transmission Line designs (400kV and above).
  • Experience in resolving key issues, and handling execution challenges of Transmission Lines and its foundations including Civil erection works of 400kV and above.
  • Depth and breadth of experience in power delivery facilities like overhead transmission distribution, underground transmission distribution, renewable power integration, Smart Grid and more.
  • Structural analysis and design of lattice tower and poles (Steel, Wood), plan & profile drawings, conductor sag and tension analysis, developing design criteria for transmission line design and creating bill of materials, engineering estimate, and quality control reviews.
  • Provide technical leadership, direction and support to the design team.
  • Plan, organize, estimate, schedule and effectively monitor all work activities.
  • Participate in regular meetings and correspond with Clients.
  • Taking personal responsibility for the preparation of detailed engineering and leading the engineering effort for the project providing technical support.
  • To manage project tasks / responsibilities at agreed budget, quality and timeframe targets.
  • To deliver fully documented designs to meet Client objectives and Arcadis’ quality system requirements.
  • Identify the gap and develop the technical competency of team and ensure the application of relevant international standards and engineering knowledge in various projects.
  • Conduct internal reviews and quality checks of engineering drawings and design calculations to ensure compliance with the project's requirements.
  • Leading interdisciplinary coordination as required for the project.
  • Understanding scope and change in scope when it arises.
  • Record man-hour charges accurately into weekly timesheets and ensure the correctness of project and non-project man-hour charges.
  • Proactively manage projects, take responsibility for resource allocation, quality assurance and client feedback.
  • Identify opportunities and drive implementation of re-engineering strategies to maximize the profitability of design components.
  • Pursuing new opportunities, identifying, and documenting scope, schedule, budget and exclusions.
  • Liaise with Arcadis lead office representatives and other consultants as appropriate to the project.
  • Gain experience and proficiency in Arcadi’s systems and procedures.
  • Become familiar and compliant with Health and Safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required relevant to the role from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 7 years of experience in Over Head Line design, preferably in a consulting environment.
  • Bachelor’s or post graduate degree in Electrical / Civil / Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University.
  • Consulting experience in OHL in the US / UK / Australia region.
  • Exposure in design codes and standards of National Grid UK, and relevant Euro codes and Australia codes for transmission line designs.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent mathematical skills applied in engineering calculations.
  • Organizational skills and proactive approach in project management.
  • Actively continue to develop technical knowledge and new emerging technology through regular training.
  • Experience in PLS CADD, PLS TOWER, PLS POLE, Staad Pro, TEDDS or other similar software tools.
