About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Brisbane team.

This role is suited to a technically strong engineer who can independently manage detailed design activities, lead mechanical engineering work packages and provide technical guidance within multidisciplinary project teams. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions across studies, detailed design, procurement and project execution phases.

As a senior member of the team, you will act as a trusted technical resource, contribute to engineering excellence and support the development of engineers across the discipline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the detailed design of mechanical systems and equipment, including conveyors, crushers, mills, pumps and materials handling systems.
  • Develop and review engineering calculations, specifications, datasheets, scopes of work and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate mechanical engineering activities within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Interface with clients, vendors and stakeholders to understand requirements and provide technical solutions.
  • Participate in technical reviews, peer reviews and engineering assurance activities.
  • Support procurement activities including technical bid evaluations and vendor selection.
  • Review vendor documentation to ensure compliance with project, constructability, operability and maintainability requirements.
  • Identify and manage technical and project risks to support successful project outcomes.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering procedures, standards, specifications and work practices.
  • Provide support during construction, commissioning and operational readiness activities as required.
  • Mentor and support developing engineers while fostering a collaborative team environment.

About You

  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification accredited by Engineers Australia.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within an engineering detailed design environment.
  • Experience delivering mining, mineral processing, materials handling or heavy industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, relevant Australian standards and industry codes.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop practical and innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Eligible for Chartered Engineer status and ideally holding, or working towards, RPEQ registration.
  • Experience with Navisworks or similar engineering software is advantageous.
  • Experience with engineering design software such as FluidFlow3, AFT Impulse and Sidewinder is advantageous.
  • Right to work in Australia.
