Job Description

  • Own the design of existing, new and/or non-standard product packages and develop technical solutions to meet the demands of assignments.
  • Produce designs of enhanced “quality” (functionality, durability etc.) with responsibility for entire XMT and Wellhead products
  • Evaluate the relevant design rules/procedures/standards within OneSubsea and propose changes and improvements to a more senior team member.
  • Delegate responsibility for individual parts of design work to less experienced colleagues as appropriate, and when more innovative solutions are required will escalate for review by a senior team member for implementation.
  • Act as an escalation point for key issues/designs which require approval at this level.
  • Formally review the designs of less experienced engineers.
  • Work closely across internal clients within different parts of OneSubsea to understand the overall workflow and to support the delivery of high-quality outputs.
  • Ensure overall customer requirements are met in line with procedural standards and standard products.
  • Plan and manage design work and necessary level of effort for R&D work, tender work and project execution.
  • Understand and apply governing documents and regulations for work scopes.
  • Assuring work executed by self and subordinates is performed on schedule and in budget.
  • Provide support for products in all lifecycle phases of execution and deployment.
  • To meet targeted engineering quality KPI.
  • Able to facilitate a good environment in the group for sharing knowledge and lifting each other.
  • Ensuring that developed Engineering work methodology is globally aligned.
  • Working aligned to core COMPANY values.
  • Provide support on tenders and bids developing concept design, estimates and schedules.
  • Review of customer requirement packages and establish product design.
  • Develop documentationdrawingcalculationanalysis packages for assigned designs.
  • Review check and approval of engineering output prepared by others.
  • Perform/participate in design reviews
  • Interface with vendors for the supply of equipment including specifying products and reviewing/approving vendor submissions.
  • Provision of technical support for designs through all execution phases.
  • Identify and communicate change during project execution.
  • Mentoring and guiding engineers within the team.
  • Ensure work is executed in accordance with PEM and COMPANY procedures.
  • Manage CAD work scopes assigned to designers.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices and related experience in mechanical/instrumentation engineering.
  • Significant experience with products associated with Subsea Production Control systems including hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with addressing a variety of situations and issues related to discipline.
  • Highly competent in mechanical engineering methodologies, calculations and tools including FEA, computer aided design tools (ie. AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor and etc).
  • Thorough understanding of design principles to verify that design documentation is performed correctly containing the necessary information to be manufactured.
  • Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple activities and workload demands with minimal supervision.
  • Shall be a skilled user of relevant design tools.
  • Hands on experience of dealing with non-standard technical challenges.
  • Shall be an ambassador for the company.
  • Shall have a high understanding of the engineering best practice as well as relevant standards.
  • Able to interact well with group members.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.

  • Manage external stakeholder (Customer Representatives, 3rd Party service companies) and internal stakeholder (Project Management Team, All Other Subsea Discipline Engineers, Assembly & Testing Dept, Centre of Excellence Groups, Personnel in other OneSubsea Companies) with interfacing, attending meetings, carry out presentations, reporting and general communications for a range of system engineering issues

  • Minimum 7 years relevant design experience including detail engineering in an Oilfield engineering background.
  • Experience in working to ISO9001 quality standards.

Minimum degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or similar
