Senior Engineer, Material Quality Engineering

The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic SeniorEngineer in ourMaterialsQualityEngineering team(Supplier Quality)forourregionalJapansupplier baseandJapanmanufacturing operationsIn this role,the candidate’sprimary responsibility will be to assess and manage supplier risk,qualityperformance,and improvement to ensure the continuity ofbothEntegrisandourcustomer’s supply chainThis position will support theMaterials Solutions Divisionand managearaw material portfoliocriticalto supporting ourDry Process Solutions(example:eChucks, gases)and IC Polishing Solutions(Example: Organicchemistries,packagingor filtration)business unitsThecandidatemust beable towork with autonomy and independent judgement to achievebothMaterialsQualityEngineeringand Entegris corporate goalspluslead continuous improvementandsupplierchangeprojectswith our critical/strategic suppliersThe candidatewill also work closely withCommodity Managers,Operations, R&DandCustomerQuality forinternal and customer issue resolution.Robust interpersonalskills to developstrong workingrelationships withboth internal customers and ourcritical/strategic suppliersisrequiredtoenable effective supplier management and improvement of supplier performanceThis position will work closely with the global Materials Quality Engineering team to support the business.

In this role you will

• Support new product developmentand the existing supplier base to leadonsite assessment and qualification of materials suppliers,identifyinggaps/opportunities, driving gap closure and continuous improvementactions/projects.

• Work with a Global teamincluding our plants in the USAand support local and global issueswhenrequired

• Understand the supplier’s processes and how the raw material has an impact on Entegris products andcustomers’application.

• Be a subject matterand technicalexpert inrawmaterial management and support Entegriscorporate anddivision’sgoals.

• Drive technical improvements and own technical reviews when required working closely with R&D

• Drive advanced quality planning and process of record documentation with critical/strategic suppliers

• Own supplier process control system reviews (SPCtrend reviews,metrology/SPC systems reviews, FMEA, Control Plans, etc.).

• Initiate,coordinate, drive and ownsupplier change notification through the Entegris internal change control systemand supplier communication

• Proactively assess supplier risk and plan forappropriate riskmitigation

• Train suppliers on key supplier expectations and requirements such as Change Control.

• Anticipate potential supplier quality management problems and opportunities;assessimpacts and risks,proposepotential solutions.

• Drive supplier corrective actions and preventative actions to meet Entegrisissue resolutionexpectations(SCAR, 8D, 5-why, Fishbone, etc.)

• Contribute to the development and improvement of the Entegris Supplier Quality Management System byidentifyingand proposingsupplier quality managementprocessandtechnicalimprovements to meet our industry and customer requirements.

Qualifications/Traits

• 4 Year Degree inMaterials Science,Chemical Engineering,or MechanicalEngineering

• MS and/or PhD preferred

• Six-Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred. Knowledge of statistical software likeMinitab, JMPstronglypreferred

• Required to communicate fluently in Japanese and EnglishAdditionalfluency inChinese a plus.

• The candidateshoulddemonstrateadeeptechnicalunderstandingof chemicalor gasmanufacturing,withanunderstanding of ceramicmaterialspreferred

• Direct experience with supplier quality managementpreferred

• ASQ Certification or equivalentpreferredbut notrequired

• Minimum5-7years’ experiencein chemicalorgasmanufacturing,automotive,semiconductorindustryor relatedhigh-techindustry

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, total travel up to10%

• Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills

• Ability to workindependently andhavestrong organizationalskills.

• Strong project management and leadership skills

• Ability to collaborate with cross functionaldepartments.
