Job Description

Our client is currently seeking a Senior Engineer to join their Natural Resources team on a major civil infrastructure project based in Limerick. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a large-scale development delivering critical infrastructure works within the natural resources sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating site engineering activities and ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal applicant will have a Civil Engineering background and a minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience in a similar setting.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day site engineering activities across the civil infrastructure project, ensuring smooth delivery of works.

• Coordinate subcontractors and ensure all works are completed in line with project drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

• Carry out setting out duties and supervise quality assurance procedures and site documentation.

• Liaise with project managers, consultants, and design teams to resolve technical issues and implement engineering solutions.

• Ensure compliance with all health & safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements on-site.

• Monitor project progress and provide regular reports to the wider project team, identifying and mitigating project risks.

• Coordinate resource planning, scheduling, and material deliveries to maintain project timelines.

• Assist in the preparation of method statements, risk assessments, and inspection test plans (ITPs).

• Mentor and support junior engineers and site personnel throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a site engineering or senior engineering role on civil infrastructure projects.

• Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and manage site operations effectively.

• Excellent understanding of health & safety regulations and quality control procedures.

• Experience using surveying equipment, setting out tools, and project reporting software.

• Full clean driving licence with flexibility to travel to the project site in Limerick.
