What you´ll do

We are looking for a Senior Inbound Engineer to drive the development and optimization of our inbound supply chain across EMEA. In this role, you will collaborate with production plants and external partners to design efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective logistics solutions for current and future car programs.

You will work in cross-functional teams, representing supply chain in new vehicle development and ensuring a lean end-to-end flow—from supplier selection to logistics network setup—while continuously improving transport strategies and service quality.

  • You will be part of cross functional teams that together work towards the common goal of having a lean supply chain from supplier to when the material is to be used in the production line.
  • You will represent supply chain in the development and preparation for our new cars, securing that supply chain considerations are part of the full process, from selection of part suppliers to setting up an efficient network.
  • You will work with strategic design of our inbound network in close collaboration with our internal stakeholder, Transport Procurement, as well as with contracted as well as future potential carriers.
  • You are expected to continuously be up to date on new technology and possibilities in the transport market and strive to develop Volvo Cars’ supply chain to be as sustainable and cost efficient as possible while delivering the highest quality of service.

What you'll do

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • 5+ years of working experience in logistics engineering, supply chain engineering,
  • You have experience from network design and/or working commercially with carriers for different transport modes.
  • Experience in multimodal rail transportation and sustainable solutions is an asset.
  • You have experience from working with inbound logistics for production plants and/or from working close with direct procurement on evaluating supply chains connected to parts sourcing.
  • This role can also relate to Ocean inbound flows, so experience from Ocean intercontinental set up is an asset.
  • You are self-driven and always striving for learning new things.
  • You thrive in an environment where you are pushed to analyse and optimize and handle new and unknown challenges and opportunities.
  • Experience with logistics strategy work is an asset as we have strategies with continuous development connected to both mentioned teams.
  • You have effective verbal and written communication skills and like to be active in driving change together with your team.

What you'll bring

Base Monthly Salary (Gross) for this position starts from 2.200 EUR.

* The salary amount represents the minimum guaranteed amount of the basic salary component applicable to the job.
Final salary is negotiable and will be adjusted in accordance with seniority level and previous experience of candidate.
