Job Description
Wood Chennai Office is hiring the candidate for the Senior Engineer in Engineering Systems expertise in SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) / Smart Digital Reality or Software-Defined Everything (SDx). The SPF SDx Engineer/Administrator is responsible for managing, configuring, and supporting the Hexagon SPF /SDx data management system. The role ensures efficient handling of engineering data, documents, and workflows across project lifecycles. Oil & Gas project experience is preferred.
- 1.Administer and maintain SPF / SDx systems.
- 2.Configure data models, class definitions, and properties within SPF.
- 3.Implement and manage engineering data workflows and document control processes
- 4.Support integration of SPF with tools such as:
- SmartPlant P&ID (SPPID)
- SmartPlant 3D (SP3D)
- SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI)
- SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL)
- 5.Handle data migration, data validation, and data integrity checks
- 6.Customize SPF using schema extensions and scripting (VBScript, SQL)
- 7.Monitor system performance and perform troubleshooting.
- 8.Provide user support, training, and documentation.
- 9.Manage access control, security policies, and version control
- 10.Work with IT and project teams to implement upgrades and patches.
- 11.Ensure compliance with project standards and client requirements.

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with Hexagon SPF / SDx
- Knowledge of:
- Engineering data management systems (EDMS)
- Data modeling and relational databases
- Hands-on expertise in:
- SQL Server / Oracle databases
- SPF configuration tools
- Familiarity with:
- Engineering design tools (SP3D, SPPID, SPI & SPEL)
- Document management systems
- Scripting knowledge:
- VBScript / .NET / PowerShell (basic to intermediate)
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication with engineering and IT teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Attention to detail and data accuracy
