Job Description

Responsible for Handling an Engineering Team across Mechanical & Electromechanical which deals with multiple product portfolio in Distribution (Lateral Protection Products), Substation and Transmission Switching & Fusing Products (Medium/High Voltage).

Responsible & Participate in Design & Development, Project Planning, Staffing, Team Management, Process Management, Procurement & Infrastructure Management, Stake Holders Communication & Reporting, Risk Management and Budget Management.

A Day In The Life

  • Lead and Manage the Projects as a hands-on Employee using Technical & Administrative Skills to Oversee & Complete Engineering Projects.
  • Foster collaboration across different engineering disciplines creates a positive, productive work environment.
  • Develop, track and publish metrics.
  • Meeting with the team, provide constructive feedback, and support professional growth within the team.
  • Prioritize tasks, monitor project progress, and address any issues that could hinder team productivity.
  • Collaborate with Counterpart stakeholders to define project requirements, priorities, and timelines.
  • Interact in a multi-disciplinary team environment to achieve the best possible product from all functional viewpoints.
  • Ability to Communicate Technical & Design information to Stakeholders in Clear, Concise & Accurate Manner.
  • Solve complex technical issues and provide guidance on best practices and technical methodologies
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and progress to the US team.
  • Foster transparent communication between offshore and onshore teams to bridge any geographical or cultural gaps.
  • Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring resources are used effectively and costs are kept within allocated limits.
  • Continually evaluate new technologies, look for technical advancements.
  • Keep cognizant of emerging technologies and markets.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Bachelor’s/Master degree in Mechanical/Electrical engineering or Equivalent.
  • Minimum 12 to 15 years related Experiences in Medium/High Voltage Switchgear Products like Reclosers, Capacitor Switch, AIS Switchgear, LBS, Switching & Fusing Products.
  • Should have experience in New Design Product Development, Sustaining and product testing.
  • Knowledge in FEM Analysis.
  • Knowledge in Electrical Simulation – Electric Field, Electrical Stress
  • Knowledge in Mechanical Simulation – Mold Flow, Electro-Thermal, Stress, Mechanical, Failure Analysis.
  • Should have experience in troubleshooting in MV/HV Products.
  • Must Demonstrate consistent and sustainable application of problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Should have experience/knowledge in type testing of MV/HV Switchgear Products as per IEC, ANSI, IEEE Standards and testing on Fusing Products.
  • Knowledge in Casting Process (GDC, PDC) and APG Molding Process.
  • Should have experience in handling medium-sized teams with project management, strategic thinking and leadership.
  • Must be able to communicate information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, convey goals to the team and provide progress reports to upper management.
