In this role, you'll:
Work as part of a specialist engineering team delivering fire life safety engineering standards, technical assurance and asset management oversight across the Transport for NSW network. This role will see you developing, maintaining and applying fire life safety standards, nurturing established relationships through regular interactions with operational and strategic teams within Fire and Rescue NSW, providing expert technical advice, undertaking asset integrity assessments and audits, and supporting assurance activities, with opportunities to influence technical capability and continuous improvement across the transport asset lifecycle.
You will lead and shape the TS 00008 fire life safety technical standards while contributing to other technical standards for fire safety requirements, investigations and performance assessments to deliver safe, resilient and whole of life optimised fire life safety outcomes in a complex, multi modal transport environment balancing safety, risk, operational and commercial considerations.

About you
Your deep technical expertise, analytical capability and sound engineering judgement, formed across fire life safety engineering, asset management or large scale infrastructure environments, will see you excel in assessing risk, managing standards changes, auditing asset performance and advising on concessions and deviations, leading to assurance ready assets, compliant engineering outcomes and improved network safety and resilience.
You’re recognised as a trusted technical authority, skilled at translating complex engineering requirements into practical standards and advice, with experience in fire life safety systems design and an understanding of fire engineering principles, regulatory frameworks, asset integrity assessments, investigations and stakeholder engagement across complex organisations.
