Education and Knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent fields from universities recognised by the Government of Malaysia (Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA) / Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) / Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC) / Engineering Technology Accreditation Council (ETAC).
• Familiar with project management principles and project execution.
• Fair knowledge in relevant law and statutory requirements for power plant construction and operation.
• Possesses a comprehensive understanding of power plant engineering design principles and the ability to develop/evaluate technical specifications.
• Familiar with power plant design and engineering with relevant standards specifically in hydro plant.
• Demonstrates expertise in hydro project lifecycle management, encompassing all phases from planning and execution to successful closure.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum seven (7) years of working experience with at least two (2) years preference in construction project. Proven record in managing hydro power plant construction project would be an advantage.
• Experience collaborating with Owner's Engineers to manage the entire project lifecycle.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to resolve complex issues among key project stakeholders.
• Proven track record of successfully navigating regulatory processes, including obtaining project approvals, permits, and licenses.
• Ability to effectively supervise projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications.

Accountability & Responsibility

• Consolidate and analyze resource requirements to achieve project goals, milestones, and deliverables.
• Manage the engineering review of Electrical equipment / systems including but not limited to generator ancillaries & voltage installations, main transformers, medium & low voltage distribution system & supplies, earthing & lighting protection system, lighting & small power, etc. to ensure compliance with TNB standards and industry best practices.
• Review and approve construction / technical documents related to Electrical works together with Owners Engineer.
• Oversee and monitor the execution of Electrical works by contractors, ensuring smooth implementation of Electrical works in accordance with the contract specifications and project requirements, manage changes, variances and contingencies that arise during the execution.
• Conduct daily / monthly progress meeting to track project progress then distribute minute of meetings or progress reports to relevant parties.
• Reviewing contractor construction program and assessment based on physical progress.
• Ensure compliance with contract and project requirements by issuing notices for minor deviations, Non-Compliance Reports (NCRs) for significant deviations, and clear instructions to address ambiguities.
• Proactively resolve disputes and review and evaluate change order requests to ensure compliance.
• Provide inputs and necessary documentations required in the Quality Management System (QMS) prepared by the Owner’s Engineer / consultants.
• Conduct regular monitoring and verification of work progress to ensure compliance with contract requirements and identify any deviations as well as take necessary corrective action.
• Implement and review risk control measures to mitigate risks related to Electrical works.
• Coordinate a comprehensive pre-handover inspection to identify and document all Electrical defects (punch list items) throughout the warranty liability period, ensuring that contractors take timely corrective action to address all identified defects.
• Collaborate with the project team to prepare comprehensive project completion reports for Electrical, including as-built drawings, and ensure the timely approval of all required technical documentation.
• Coordinate and consolidate the information for the handing over process of the project technical portion to the O&M partner (i.e. Asset Operation & Maintenance and TNB REMACO) and supervise the required training to the O&M personnel.
