The opportunities

We are seeking a Senior Engineer – Drainage & Flooding to join our high-performing Queensland team. This role is ideal for an experienced drainage specialist with strong technical capability in 12d and a proven background delivering drainage and flooding design for major road and/or rail infrastructure projects

In this position, you will provide specialist technical input, lead design packages, and support multidisciplinary project teams across significant transport programs in Queensland and nationally.

With a minimum of 7-15 year’s commercial experience in delivering drainage design on road or rail projects. You will be providing expert drainage advice and demonstrating advanced technical skills, ensuring that analysis and design tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards that meet the requirements of our clients.

With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have gained your experience in an engineering design consultancy and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent discipline).
  • 7–15 years’ experience in drainage and flooding design, ideally within a consultancy environment.
  • Advanced capability with 12d, including hydrology, hydraulic modelling, and drainage design workflows.
  • Strong understanding of relevant Australian Standards, Austroads guidelines, and TMR requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects to client scope, budget, and timeframes.
  • Ability to prepare high‑quality technical reports with minimal review.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams across major transport projects.
  • Willingness to undertake occasional travel as project needs arise.
