Our client is currently seeking a Senior Engineer to join their team on a major solar energy project located just outside Charleville, Co. Cork This is a high-impact role on a landmark renewable energy development, offering the opportunity to work at the forefront of sustainable infrastructure. The successful candidate will take a leading role in coordinating technical aspects of the project and ensuring successful delivery on-site. The ideal applicant will have a Civil Engineering background and a minimum of 4 years' relevant experience in a similar setting.
Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day site engineering operations on the solar project, ensuring smooth execution of works.
Manage subcontractors and ensure that all work aligns with project drawings and specifications.
Set out works accurately and supervise quality control and documentation processes.
Liaise with project managers and designers to resolve technical challenges and implement design solutions.
Ensure compliance with health & safety and environmental regulations on-site.
Monitor and report on project progress, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
Coordinate material deliveries, resource planning, and scheduling with the wider project team.
Contribute to method statement preparation, risk assessments, and inspection test plans (ITPs).
Mentor and support junior engineers and other team members throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a site or senior engineering role, ideally on large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.
Proven ability to interpret technical drawings and manage site works effectively.
Strong understanding of health & safety practices and quality control procedures.
Proficiency in setting out, surveying equipment, and project reporting tools.
Full clean driving licence with flexibility to travel to the site near Charleville, Co. Cork.
