Job Description

PACCAR India is seeking an experienced Finite Element Analyst to join its engineering team, responsible for analyzing and optimizing commercial vehicle systems and subsystems using advanced CAE tools such as OptiStruct, HyperWorks, and Abaqus.

In this role, you will help develop and validate FEA models, perform structural, durability, thermal, and vibration analyses, collaborate with global engineering teams to support product development, and provide simulation-driven recommendations to enhance vehicle performance, reliability, and quality. You will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of CAE practices and methodologies

Key Responsibilities:

  • The primary responsibility of this role is to perform FEA-based analysis of PACCAR’s global products.
  • Collaborate with global and local teams to understand design intent and develop as well as validate structural FEA models to support new engineering designs.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of products and assess requirements for vehicle systems, subsystems, and components in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Apply digital prototyping techniques for static and vibration-based structural analyses, including stress, deformation, thermal, fatigue, modal, harmonic, and random vibration studies.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior team members.
  • Perform FEA simulations on vehicle systems and subsystems using HyperWorks and Abaqus.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s / master’s in mechanical, Automotive Engineering

Knowledge & Skills REQUIRED:

  • 4–7 years of relevant experience within a multinational engineering organization.
  • Strong foundation in engineering principles, particularly Strength of Materials and vibrations, with practical application in mechanical design.
  • Experience in analyzing metal castings, forgings, sheet metal, and welded components.
  • Hands-on experience working with engine and transmission assemblies.
  • Solid understanding of Finite Element Method (FEM) principles, along with proven experience using commercial FEA software tools.

Knowledge & Skills DESIRED:

  • Experience in Altair HyperWorks suite and Abaqus FEA solver.
