The building portfolio you would join (described in confidence)

The group's building portfolio spans public and private sectors across the territory. Exact project assignment is confirmed at offer stage, matched to your experience:

• Hospital & institutional developments — major hospital redevelopments and new institutional facilities across Hong Kong and Kowloon, including large-scale superstructure works on live healthcare campuses
• Public housing programme — high-volume public housing construction using MiC and MiMEP modern methods, including developments in the northwestern New Territories and urban infill sites — the group's housing pipeline runs into the tens of thousands of flats
• Government headquarters & facilities — new government office and departmental headquarters buildings
• Prime private residential & commercial — luxury residential redevelopment, station-top property development, and a landmark commercial tower on the central harbourfront

The role — Senior Engineer (Building)

Working within the contractor's building works division, under the direction of the Project Manager / Agent, you will take ownership of day-to-day engineering delivery on large-scale building projects:

• Plan, direct and supervise building/structural works on site, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, method statements and ITPs
• Coordinate with site agents, foremen, subcontractors, consultants and client representatives
• Champion MiC / MiMEP and DfMA delivery where deployed; coordinate module logistics, installation sequencing and interface management
• Review temporary works, construction methodology and technical submissions
• Drive programme adherence in conjunction with the planning team; flag and resolve critical-path risks early
• Control quality, safety and environmental standards on your work fronts
• Support the Project Engineer / APM in cost, variation and progress reporting
• Mentor graduate and site engineers

Requirements

• Degree in Building Engineering & Management, Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent discipline
• Minimum 6 years' site experience on large-scale building projects, main contractor side
• Solid grounding in building construction: structural frames, superstructure, building services interfaces, or modern-methods (MiC/MiMEP/DfMA) delivery
• Professional membership (e.g. MHKIE / CEng MICE / MIStructE) preferred — chartership recognised with a salary premium
• Strong written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Putonghua)
• Hands-on with site documentation: method statements, ITPs, RFIs, progress records
• Ambition for APM track is a genuine advantage — this contractor promotes from within across a 70+ project Hong Kong portfolio
