Senior Engineer - Autonomation

(Based at Unichela – Koggala)

Embark on a journey of change with MAS, by joining MAS intimates as a Senior Engineer - Autonomation based at Koggala to lead development of autonomation solutions for manufacturing value chain to meet defined performance parameters adhering to set Return of Investment (ROI) targets. Research and innovate new technological platforms related to autonomation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development and implementation of autonomation solutions to improve manufacturing performance while achieving targeted ROI and business objectives.

  • Evaluate automation opportunities through data analysis feasibility assessments and ROI calculations to support investment decisions.

  • Lead the design and development of mechanical electrical pneumatic and control systems for automated manufacturing solutions.

  • Drive machine design activities include CAD modelling system architecture development and design validation reviews.

  • Develop and debug PLC programs embedded systems and machine control logic to ensure reliable machine functionality.

  • Oversee the fabrication assembly and integration of automated equipment while ensuring compliance with design specifications and project requirements.

  • Lead PCB design development and validation activities to support advanced machine control systems.

  • Conduct machine testing validation and performance evaluations to ensure quality reliability, usability and operational effectiveness.

  • Manage multiple automation projects while coordinating with cross-functional teams factories suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.

  • Research emerging technologies and drive innovation commercialization and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing capabilities.

  • Mentor and develop team members through technical guidance, knowledge, sharing training and performance support.

  • Lead knowledge transfer activities including user training documentation development and manufacturing handovers to support large-scale deployment of automation solutions.

  • Conduct market and technology assessments to identify innovative solutions that create measurable business impact.

  • Support the development of automation strategies that align with manufacturing and organizational objectives.

  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, governance requirements company policies and relevant regulatory frameworks.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Engineering Degree with 2 - 4 years of relevant experience in automation engineering or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical control systems with expertise in design simulation prototyping and implementation.

  • Proficiency in PLC programming embedded systems development and PCB design.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Excellent analytical communication and Industrial Engineering skills with the ability to train guide and supervise team members while working independently.
