The Role:
As a Senior Engineer on the AI Platform team at StarRez, you'll help build the shared AI capabilities, agentic workflows, and platform infrastructure that power intelligent experiences across the StarRez product ecosystem.
This is a senior full-stack engineering role focused on delivering production-grade AI systems while establishing reusable foundations and patterns that other engineering teams can adopt.
You are a strong software engineer with solid product instincts and a pragmatic approach to emerging technology. You care about building scalable, maintainable, and reliable systems, and are comfortable contributing across architecture, backend systems, integrations, and frontend experiences where needed.
Working closely with Product, Design, Quality, Platform, Security, and Engineering teams, you'll help deliver AI-powered solutions that are observable, resilient, and customer-focused.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and build agentic workflows and AI-powered product capabilities, including orchestration, tool use, retrieval, and multi-step reasoning
Develop shared AI platform capabilities, frameworks, and engineering patterns that support adoption across StarRez teams
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and production-ready solutions
Evaluate AI models, providers, and frameworks, making pragmatic decisions about adoption and implementation
Contribute to engineering quality through clean architecture, testing, observability, code reviews, and operational support
Stay engaged with the evolving AI landscape and help shape platform direction and engineering best practices
About you:
You're an experienced engineer who combines strong software engineering fundamentals with curiosity and adaptability in a rapidly evolving space.
You're hands-on, product-minded, and motivated by solving real customer problems. You understand how engineering decisions impact scalability, maintainability, reliability, and developer experience, and you actively contribute to improving technical standards within your team.
Required Experience:
5+ years of commercial software engineering experience building production-grade applications
Strong backend engineering experience, ideally with .NET / C#
Experience designing and shipping distributed or SaaS systems at scale
Hands-on experience with LLM APIs and modern AI tooling (Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar)
Familiarity with agentic patterns and frameworks including orchestration, RAG, prompt engineering, and tool use
Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including API design, testing strategies, and maintainable architecture
Experience with observability, debugging, and production support practices
Comfortable contributing across the full stack where required (TypeScript/JavaScript, modern frontend frameworks)
Experience working with cloud platforms and modern engineering workflows (Git, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Azure preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience building internal platforms, SDKs, or reusable engineering frameworks
Familiarity with async or event-driven architectures
Experience with evaluation, traceability, and operational patterns for AI systems
Exposure to DevOps, infrastructure-as-code, or SRE practices
Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to technical leadership
