Job Description

Our client, a Tier 1 main contractor, is seeking a Senior Engineer to join their team on a student accommodation project just outside Galway city in Coolough. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced engineer to take a lead technical role on a large-scale residential build with a well-established main contractor. The successful candidate will bring proven site engineering experience, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to manage junior engineering staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day to day engineering function on site, overseeing junior and site engineers
• Set out and control levels for all structural and civil works
• Review and interpret design drawings, specifications and structural details
• Ensure all works are constructed in accordance with drawings, specifications and building regulations
• Liaise with the design team, subcontractors and site management on technical matters
• Manage RFIs, technical queries and drawing revisions through to resolution
• Monitor quality control and ensure compliance with the project's quality management system
• Support the programme by co-ordinating engineering resources and sequencing of works
• Maintain accurate site records, as-built drawings and technical documentation

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years' post-graduate site engineering experience with a main contractor
• Experience on residential, student accommodation or similar large-scale build projects
• Strong working knowledge of setting out, levels and structural engineering
• Proficient in AutoCAD and standard setting out equipment
• Full clean driving licence
