About this opportunity:

Ericsson is currently seeking a dynamic MS Core and Cloud Specialist. This vital role is grounded in technology leadership and expertise, and it will interface with a variety of our Core and Cloud domains, including CS Core, PS Core, IMS, IP Core, and Cloud. As part of the Ericsson Operations Engine, your responsibilities span the full cycle of Create, Sustain and Evolve, making a pivotal impact on our Managed Services deliveries.

What you will do:

  • Good Technical Knowledge, configuration and troubleshooting experience of the specific CORE nodes viz AMF/SMF/UPF/UDM/PCF/NRF/SGSN/MME/GGSN/DNS /PCRF/PGW/SGW/ePDG/AAA.
  • Perform software updates and upgrades on core network nodes while ensuring service stability and minimal customer impact.
  • Manage traffic optimization and loa d distribution across core network elements such as MME, GGSN, SMF, and AMF to maintain balanced network utilization.
  • Implement and validate APN/DNN configurations in accordance with network design and service requirements.
  • Execute capacity-related subscriber migrations and load balancing activities to maintain optimal network performance.
  • Execute network changes during Maintenance Windows (MW) in accordance with approved Change Requests (CR).
  • Monitor node health, KPIs, and alarms during maintenance activities to ensure network stability.
  • Support 4G/5G Core network operations, including configuration validation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with 3GPP standards, VoLTE/IMS related configurations within core network elements such as MME and GGSN/PGW and Packet Switched (PS) Core protocols.
  • Sound domain knowledge across 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G technologies, including VoWiFi.
  • Hands-on experience in network configuration tasks including OSPF configuration, IP pool management, OCS/DRA/PCRF integration, LAC barring, CSFB, SRVCC, APN creation, BSC/RNC migration, and TAI-DB management.
  • Understanding of SS7 network architecture, along with GPRS, 3G, LTE/EPC, and VoLTE call flows, and basic RF network concepts related to GPRS.
  • Knowledge of key Packet Core interfaces and protocols, including Gb, Gr, Gi, Gn, IuPS, Gx, Gy, Gz, S1, S6a, S11, SGs, S10, N7, N26, N40, N4, N11, N6 and related configuration and integration aspects.
  • Understanding of Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) configurations and related service policies.
  • Good understanding of service awareness and differentiated charging concepts within the packet core environment. Familiarity with latest Packet Core technologies and architectures, including CUPS (Control and User Plane Separation), F5 load balancing, Cloud -based deployments, 5G NSA, 5G SA, and VoWiFi.

  • Relevant Experience: 3-5 yrs. (relevant to PACO)
  • Technical and/or functional skills: [Network Nodes/5G SA/5G/NSA/LTE/Volte/VONR/OpenStack/OpenShift/GSM/GPRS/SS7/IN]
  • The primary purpose is to take full responsibility of Technical Discussions / Self Initiator to Mentor peers for Competence Development / Process understanding and awareness / Audits awareness and follow ups / CR execution activities related to CORE Network.
