Our client, is currently on the lookout for a Senior Engineer in Donegal to join their team on a WasteWater Treatment Plant. The client is looking for an engineer in each of its 3 locations – North, South and West Donegal. The client in question are an established civil engineering contractor and have completed a range of large scale civils projects in the past. They are looking for an individual with relevant Civil contractor experience. This is a full time, permanent position, with great scope for career progression.

Responsibilities:

• Champion best practices in health, safety, and environmental management in coordination with the SHQE department.
• Ensure accurate and effective implementation of setting-out techniques and methodologies.
• Verify that construction drawings and specification documents are complete, accurate, and sufficient for project execution. Promptly request additional information if needed to avoid delays.
• Conduct quality checks in compliance with company and project-specific procedures.
• Collaborate with foremen and supervisors to ensure clear understanding and implementation of project requirements.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to assistant, graduate, and junior engineers.
• Assist in the design and implementation of temporary works schemes.
• Take initiative in identifying and nurturing key team members, coaching and supporting their development.
• Oversee site activities under your control, ensuring unsafe conditions and noncompliance with company policies are promptly addressed.
• Foster positive relationships with clients, designers, internal teams, and supply chain partners.
• Support material and plant selection and requisition processes for construction activities.
• Contribute to the preparation of written risk assessments and method statements to ensure safe execution of work.
• Ensure inspection and test plans are completed in accordance with the PMP and project specifications, including checks for dimensional accuracy and quality.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with the commercial team regarding issues with potential contractual or commercial impact.

Requirements

• Must have groundworks experience
• 5+ years, proven experience in civil engineering projects.
• Ability to produce, implement and manage safe systems of work for construction procedures.
• Proven experience/training with all the latest surveying/CAD techniques.
• Ability to use setting out equipment including total station and reading of drawings and specification documents.
• An understanding of the commercial issues in undertaking a large scale construction project.
• Knowledge of current civil engineering legislation as well as Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
• Water experience is preferred.
