Join Pacific Banking Technology and play a key role in one of the most significant banking transformation programs in the region. Based in Sydney/ Warrane, Gadigal Country, this permanent hybrid role offers the chance to solve complex technology challenges, influence strategic technology decisions and contribute to initiatives that have a genuine impact on customers, communities and businesses across the Pacific.

What’s the role?

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership across a diverse technology landscape spanning core banking, enterprise integrations, digital platforms, cloud services and vendor solutions.

You'll work closely with architects, engineers, delivery teams and technology partners to design and deliver secure, scalable and resilient solutions that support Westpac's long-term technology strategy.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading solution design activities and contributing to key technology decisions.
• Designing and delivering solutions across enterprise applications, APIs, integration platforms and cloud-enabled services.
• Supporting major transformation initiatives, platform modernisation programs and strategic technology upgrades.
• Working with vendors and technology partners to ensure solutions deliver business value and align with architectural standards.
• Identifying opportunities to improve system performance, resilience, automation and operational efficiency.
• Mentoring team members and contributing to a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement.

What do I need?

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical capability with a passion for solving complex problems and delivering meaningful outcomes.

You'll bring:

• Experience delivering or supporting enterprise applications, integrations and technology platforms.

• Strong understanding of integration technologies, APIs, microservices and enterprise architecture concepts.

• Experience working with vendors and third party technology solutions in complex environments.

• Exposure to cloud and container platforms including AWS, Azure, Kubernetes or OpenShift.
