This job is responsible for defining and leading the engineering approach for complex features to deliver significant business outcomes. Key responsibilities of the job include delivering complex features and technology, enabling development efficiencies, providing technical thought leadership based on conducting multiple software implementations, and applying both depth and breadth in a number of technical competencies. Additionally, this job is accountable for end-to-end solution design and delivery. Open Banking Engineers are responsible for interfacing with multiple internal teams and external companies to assist them in operational needs and process engagement and response improvements. The Platform Engineer will maintain a partnership/working relationship with the application teams, support partners and business partners to proactively modify and update operational processes as appropriate. They will proactively research, test and implement additional tools of value to the Platform Operational Framework. Where appropriate, they will also lead efforts in process and platform re-engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that the design and engineering approach for complex features are consistent with the larger portfolio solution
  • Define the technology tool stack for the solution and evaluate and adapt new testing tool/framework/practices for team(s)
  • Enables team(s)/applications with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) capabilities and engages with other technical stakeholders pertaining to efficient functioning of CI-CD pipeline
  • Guides and influences team(s) on design and best practices for high code performance –e.g. pairing, code reviews
  • Provides end-to-end delivery of complex features, including automation, for either a single team or multiple teams, at the program level
  • Conducts research, design prototyping and other exploration activities such as evaluating new toolsets and components for release management, CI/CD, and features
  • Works with stakeholders to establish high-level solution needs and with architects for technical requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong strategic thinker and the proven ability to execute.
  • Superior communication and relationship management skills.
  • Strong technical SME with understanding of API's, OAuth 2 authorization framwork, gateway technologies, monitoring and capacity management concepts.
  • Ability to interface with both development and infrastructure teams to support overall channel resliency for end to end transaction flows.
  • Experience delivering an enterprise service leveraging enterprise tools for a wide customer base.
  • Provide input for defining platform roadmap, capacity planning and application monitoring.
  • Understanding of API's and data exchange principles.
  • Understanding of Financial Industry standards such Financial Data Exchange (FDX).
  • Familiar with RESTful patterns and OAuth 2 authorization framework.
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
  • Familiar w/Splunk & AppDynamics and other operational toolsets.
  • Experience with cloud providers.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps and automation best practices and hands-on experience with industry standard CI/CD tools
  • Familiarity with web service standards and RESTful API best practices, including HTTP method/resource pairing, header use, pagination, and HATEOAS concepts.
  • Implement logging and analytics metrics along with corresponding notifications and alerts using industry standard tools.
  • Familiarity with current Server OS including Windows and Red Hat EL
  • Ability to perform basic system admin tasks.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge/expertise of SQL Oracle/MSSQL, ability to perform CRUD tasks.
  • Familiar with OpenShift and AWS offerings and implementations.
  • Basic Networking, Firewall, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SFTP
  • Working knowledge/expertise of caching technologies.
