General Summary:


The Engineer role focuses on embedded systems development, platform bring-up, and driver design for multiprocessor environments. This position requires strong technical skills, problem-solving ability, and collaboration across hardware and software teams.

Key Responsibilities
Driver Development & Integration

Design and develop drivers for multiprocessor and multithreaded ASIC platforms.
Implement and support industry-standard protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe).
Debug and resolve driver issues reported by internal test teams and customers.

System-Level Engineering
Participate in board bring-up and firmware development.
Work on embedded RTOS platforms such as Zephyr and FreeRTOS for real-time applications.
Collaborate with hardware engineers to align software with product requirements.

Development Lifecycle
Follow SDLC processes for design, coding, testing, and documentation.
Ensure compliance with functional safety and performance standards.

Testing & Debugging
Use tools like JTAG, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes for debugging.
Conduct unit and integration testing for embedded components.

Required Skills
Programming: Proficiency in C (mandatory), C++ preferred.
Embedded Systems: Strong understanding of RTOS concepts and real-time programming.
Hardware Knowledge: Microprocessor/multiprocessor architecture.
Protocols: I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe.
Analytical Skills: Ability to troubleshoot complex system-level issues.

Good to Have
Gen AI Experience: Exposure to Generative AI concepts and integration into embedded workflows.
Familiarity with AI-driven optimization or predictive maintenance solutions.
Qualcomm SoC Experience: Hands-on experience working with Qualcomm SoCs, including familiarity with platform bring-up, driver integration, and system-level debugging.
Qualcomm Tooling: Practical experience using Qualcomm development and debug tools (e.g., QPST, QXDM, JTAG/debug probes, trace tools, or equivalent internal toolchains).

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

1+ year of experience with Database Management Software.

1+ year of experience with API.

1+ year of work experience with Git, Perforce, or Source Code Management System.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Applies Software knowledge to assist and support the design, development, creation, modification, and validation of embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs.

Analyzes user needs and software requirements.

Designs and implements small software features for products and systems.

Participates in the design, coding for small features, unit testing, minor debugging fixes, and integration efforts to ensure projects are completed on schedule.

Assists in performing code reviews and regression tests as well as the triaging of issues to ensure the quality of code.

Collaborates with others inside project team to accomplish project objectives.

Writes technical documentation for Software projects.

Level of Responsibility:

• Works under supervision.

Decision-making affects direct area of work and/or work group.

• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information.

• Tasks require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
