Substation Design Engineer

We are looking for a Substation Design Engineer to join our Transmission & Distribution team in Gurgaon. In this role, you will apply your technical expertise to deliver first-of-its-kind substation projects. Your work will directly contribute to building reliable power infrastructure across diverse geographies.
What You'll Do
- Design AIS and GIS substations up to 400kV, including single line diagrams, protection schemes, layouts, earthing, and lightning protection systems.
- Prepare cable schedules, cabling layouts, and associated design calculations and drawings.
- Develop auxiliary LVAC and LVDC system designs for substation projects.
- Perform design reviews of equipment drawings, control schematics, CRP schemes, and substation automation systems.
- Review PLCC and FOTE system designs to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Prepare CT/PT sizing calculations and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Apply international codes and standards including SEC, IS, British, American, and European practices to ensure design quality.
What You Bring
- B.Tech in Electrical Engineering is mandatory; M.Tech is an added advantage.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in substation design, preferably from a consulting background.
- Strong knowledge of AIS and GIS substation design up to 400kV voltage levels.
- Familiarity with international standards and codes of practice relevant to power transmission.
- Proficiency in MS Office and engineering design tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously across geographies.
Location
Gurgaon, India — On Site
This is a full-time, permanent position. You will report to the Product Head or Project Manager within the Transmission & Distribution function.
