Purpose of the Role

We are looking for a senior engineer with a proven track record in dynamic finite element analysis and coding to join our Subsea and Marine Division. The role will provide dynamic installation and in-place analysis for the offshore riser, flowline and cables industry. We use OrcaFlex to perform finite element analysis and Python to pre- and post-process our finite element simulations and develop analysis processes. Although our need currently focusses on this skill set, the successful candidate will get the opportunity to get involved in the wide range of engineering studies that we undertake for our clients.

Requirements

Qualifications, Skills & Behaviours

  • BEng or MEng qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering discpline.
  • Must have strong ability with OrcaFlex, analysis processes and experienced at using Python coding.
  • Knowledge of unbonded flexible pipe design and construction would be a benefit.
  • Actively working towards Chartership status would be a benefit.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience within the offshore energy industry.
  • Be adaptable and agile to enable delivery of assignments at short notice while multi-tasking across concurrent project scopes.
  • Strong report writing ability.
  • First class communication demonstrating ability to summarise key drivers succinctly.
