In this role, you'll:

Working as an Employee Relations specialist, where you will work with People & Culture managers to assist line managers in the effective industrial engagement and management of their workforce. The role embeds the employee and industrial relations strategy to support Transport for NSW’s business objectives and ensures that the interests of both staff and the organisation are reflected in the industrial and employee relations environment.

This role will see you manage complex matters such as industrial relations issues, managing consultation disputes, negotiation with unions and representing Transport matters at industrial tribunals.

You will also work on people related projects and reforms and contribute to the Employee Relations frameworks and strategies for Transport.

The team hub for this role will be located in Macquarie Park and there will be the expectation that the successful candidate will be able to commit to our 50% workplace presence requirements.

About you

You will demonstrate a high level of strategic thinking, analytical capability and problem solving skills within a complex, industrialised environment. You will have proven experience in employee or workforce relations, particularly within the public sector, with a strong understanding of industrial instruments and agreements.


You will have the ability to independently manage matters, cases and disputes end to end quickly interpreting agreements, assessing risk and confidently representing the organisation. Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills are essential, along with the ability to think innovatively to achieve practical outcomes.


Excellent stakeholder management skills are critical, with the capacity to build effective working relationships across diverse and high pressure environments.
