The [Electric Machine Analyst] will be responsible for the design, analysis, and optimization of electric machines used in automotive applications. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the electric machine designs meet performance, efficiency, noise and reliability standards.
Design and Development:
Develop and optimize electric machine designs for automotive applications.
Conduct electromagnetic, thermal, and mechanical analyses to ensure performance and reliability.
Collaborate with design and project engineers to ensure that designs will integrate into vehicle systems.
Simulation and Modelling:
Utilize simulation tools to model electric machine performance.
Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) simulations. Process the results of these simulations, draw conclusions and communicate these through the organization.
Develop and improve simulation models to predict machine behavior under various operating conditions.
Continuous Improvement:
Monitor the latest advancements in electric machine technology, updating skills when required.
Identify opportunities for electric machine innovation, efficiency improvements, design cost reduction.
Engage with Test and Systems engineers to improve the alignment of simulations with test data.
Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise.
